Queensland’s Ryan Preuss has become the latest contestant to be voted out of Camp Biggest Loser, as seen on tonight’s episode of The Biggest Loser: Singles.
Known as the heaviest contestant to compete on The Biggest Loser worldwide, Preuss was also one to shy away from putting in the hard yards. His lack of diet constraint and training routine led to contestant, trainer and fan backlash alike.
At 29-years of age, Ryan entered the competition weighing 241 kilograms. He now leaves the competition having lost 34 kilograms.
Ryan admits his downfall was being lazy. He would love nothing more than to be able to play sports and do everything his friends are doing and of course finding the love of his life.
For years Ryan used humour to mask the pain of his weight issues and his mother feared that her only son was on the brink of death.
This week, it was apparent that the contestants were vying for him. In temptation, both Hamish and Lydia did what they can to stop Ryan from achieving immunity. That included Hamish consuming thousands of calories in one sitting.
But one has to ask, did Ryan really deserve to go? He still weighs an awful lot- and if we’re taking unhealthiness into consideration here, he’s the most unhealthy of the lot, hands down.
Speaking after his elimination, Ryan had this to say;
“I have had some high points this week, I’ve been able to hold 100 kilos on a bar across my shoulders, I’ve been able to run up sand dunes that are 60 metres high, I got through a training session with the Commando and didn’t cry, they are great accomplishments for someone that’s over 200 kilograms!”
“I definitely want to get to a place where I’ve got self-respect for myself, I care for myself and I can even say that I love myself. It’s a long path, it’s going to be a tough journey but it’s making those little goals along the way. Since being a part of The Biggest Loser, in four weeks, I’ve learnt to respect myself, I’ve learnt to hold onto those achievements that I’ve done and not try and focus on the negatives, I’m learning to put myself first for once.”
