41 couples from across Australia will help Adam Hills make history in Australia’s first ever ‘Mass Same-Sex TV Wedding’, which will screen as part of ADAM HILLS IN GORDON ST TONIGHT on Wednesday March 28 at 8.30pm on ABC1.
The couples will represent Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and the ACT, and will gather at the Gordon St studios in Melbourne to take part in the non-legally binding TV wedding extravaganza, to be filmed Monday March 26.
‘80s pop icon Adam Ant will return to the show to be the official ‘wedding singer’ along with band The Good, The Mad and The Lovely Posse.
Other interview guests on the night include radio and TV star Hamish Blake and actress Noni Hazlehurst.
In February on the show, Adam asked his audience the question: “If you were Prime Minister for a day, what law would you change/introduce?” The most common shared response of the audience was that they would legalise same-sex marriage.
One eager audience member kicked it all off by proposing to her girlfriend on the show. Adam offered to throw them a ‘Same-Sex TV Wedding’, and later extended the invitation to all LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) couples.
