One half of South Australia’s Reunited-Sister team Alana & Mel on Seven’s first season of The Amazing Race Australia in 2011, has landed the role of national presenter of the Today Network’s Hot30 Countdown, which she will co-host with current presenter Matty Acton.
She replacing Maude Garrett, who quit earlier this year. Television fans may have spotted her when she appeared on the Dicko-fronted Can Of Worms last year. She appeared in the controversial episode when business man John Elliot branded Aboriginals as ‘abos’.
Since leaving the reality show, Mel has been based in Adelaide, working as an announcer on Mix 102.3. She jets off to Sydney for her new job today.
“I’m the luckiest girl in the world,” Mel told Adelaide Confidential.
“My biggest dream has been wanting to lick chocolate syrup off (R&B singer) Usher’s abs and I think this will be my best chance yet to get amongst his sexiness,” she jokes.
Turning 30 on Tuesday, this is a perfect birthday present for Greig.
On The Amazing Race Australia, Mel reunited with her sister Alana, and were able to place seventh (out of eleven).
The second season of The Amazing Race Australia debuts later this year on Seven.
