Channel Nine and Endemol have today confirmed through their twitter feed that the upcoming ninth season of Big Brother will recieve a new eye logo to coincide with the show’s relaunch.
In a simple tweet at @bbau9, it was hinted that the show would not use the ‘current’ eye logo (above), which has been used since Nine confirmed the shows return.
‘The new BB eye is coming soon…’ the tweet said.
The Big Brother eye has been an iconic part of the Big Brother franchise since the beginning. Refreshed every two years by Network Ten, the 2007 season even recieved criticism after it used the eye logo that had been used since 2005.
The tweet also asks viewers to take a close-up picture of their own eye and tweet it in.
The powers at Big Brother seem to be powering up for some official news to be delivered in coming weeks. On the official Facebook page, it was hinted that audition information would finally be released ‘very soon’.
The eye logo shown above shows the eye used from 2003-2004, rendered in the 2005-2007 design.
What do you want the new eye to look like?
Big Brother Australia premieres on Nine later this year.
And I will announce this here- in a few months time, Throng will be publishing a comprehensive list of what housemates, both popular and not so popular, from all seasons have been doing since their fifteen minutes of fame ended. Expect the list towards the end of May.
