South Australian man, 40-year old Simon Hurley has been the latest casualty within the Camp Biggest Loser walls after being eliminated after facing the chop against girlfriend Lisa.
After the first individual weigh in, Simon and Lisa pulled the lowest weight loss percentages, with weight loss totals below 2kg. Earlier in the night, Margie posted a 0.8kg loss, however was saved by her immunity.
In the weigh in room, the former-red and black teams stuck to their former bonds, with Alex and Graham voting to eliminate Lisa, and Margie and Lydia voting against Simon.
White team member Kasey broke the tie, sending an elimination-laden vote Simon’s way. Simon, who has since dropped to 118kg on the outside, knew the group made the right decision.
‘Lisa may not agree, but the right decision has been made here tonight,’ he said, before breaking down.
And in some somewhat-related trivia, former-white team member Michelle has now overtaken Lisa as the contest’s lightest still-active contestant, on 80.5kg, after dropping over 5kg in a shock result.

Sadly for new lovers – 40-year old Simon Hurley from South Australia and 42-year old Lisa Ritherdon from New South Wales – their romance came to an abrupt end at CampBiggest Loser, when Simon was eliminated tonight in the first weigh-in as single competitors.
“Yes I was nervous. There’s a whole lot more accountability now that it’s just us that we’re responsible for, we’re not relying on any team mates, we’re not carrying anyone or hoping that someone carries us, it’s completely up to us,” Simon said.
In a sad twist of fate, Simon and Lisa, fell below the yellow line and faced elimination against each other. They came into The Biggest Loser as singles, but have found a special bond here at Camp.
In the elimination room, having lost only 1.8kgs, Lisa begged the contestants to send her home. She felt that she had learnt all she can and lost enough weight to make it on the outside, but her main reason was she was finally ready to deal with her grief over the loss of her son Braidon. Lisa lost Braidon five years ago and until now, couldn’t talk about his death in front of her other two sons, Nathan and Mitchell.
Simon who lost a mere 1.7kgs, fell on his sword for Lisa, telling the rest of the contestants they should save Lisa and send him home because she still has to be at Camp Biggest Loser. In a tearful goodbye, Simon was eliminated and left the competition hand in hand with Lisa. Lisa made a promise to Simon that she’ll make him proud and he hasn’t left in vain.
Simon revealed, “I see the possibility of a long term future with Lisa, we’ll never know 100% until we finish here at Camp Biggest Loser. It’s a pretty surreal place to meet anybody and there’s very little alone time.
“To find someone like Lisa and having gotten as close as we have here, was the last thing on my mind. I never would have thought this could happen, but we have very similar stories and we’re going through the same journey so I guess realistically, it was fate.”
Simon is looking forward to seeing his two sons back home in Adelaide. He’s made a promise to them that he would never let them down and they were his sole motivation to push himself to his limits. He heads back a stronger, confident, lighter man, having lost a total of 37.1kgs.
