Devdas, 9.30pm, SBS TWO
One of the most lavish and expensive Bollywood films ever made, this is the sweeping tale of two soul mates, childhood sweethearts Devdas and Paro, whose love is thwarted by India’s rigid class structure. Young Devdas is sent to study in London by his wealthy father. On his return, love blossoms again, but the families oppose the romance.

Nurse Jackie, Pilot, 10.30pm, showcase
In case you haven’t seen this fabulous show, the Sopranos’ Edie Falco stars as Nurse Jackie Peyton, a hard working and dedicated ER nurse who has a bad back, is married with two kids, but fools around and puts altogether too many hours in at work. Jackie also has good judgment and knows more than some of the residents. When she tells Dr Cooper (Peter Facinelli) that she suspects a bicycle messenger brought in following an accident of having a brain bleed, he tells her off. She decides that something good will come out of the situation regardless. Similarly, when she learns that a diplomat who attacked a hooker will not be charged because of his diplomatic immunity, she has a solution for that as well.

Glee, 7.30pm, TEN
Will assigns the glee club a Spanish singing assignment, and enlists the help of his musically inclined night school teacher. Guest stars Ricky Martin.
