What the hell are Ten thinking in moving the popular YTT to Friday nights? It doesn’t rate through the roof but my family and I really enjoy it on a Sunday night. But a nothing Friday?
No word as to what will air at 8pm Fridays after YTT but probably Glee and then one of Ten’s well overplayed movies like Little Miss Sunshine, 27 Dresses or the Devil Wears Prada, or straight in to another repeated movie once again by Ten.
After visiting the set and seeing the amazing team of YTT, I really feel that Channel Ten is doing them an injustice, especially as this a local production featuring all the music of Michael Jackson was advertised this Sunday. Next episode they have Chucky Klapow – one of Michaels dancers on the This Is It tour (his incompleted final) and High School Musical choreographer and an amazing guy basically mentoring them – why advertise such a great episode to only change it? It looks like the best of the season and would reach such a broad audience.
I just feel like so much local talent could be wasted by this move – and these kids (ok, some have more than others) could fall at the wayside. What is Warburton thinking! Idol went, and we now only have a weight loss show they are pinning their hopes on while Seven takes the lead with talent on Australia’s Got Talent and X Factor. Expect to see one of the YTT kids win one of those shows or greater in the future as I can not see it lasting in this night and time slot. It makes me truly sad.
Guess that’s why Seven will not only win the year but also the support of the Aussie public – regular programming will always win out – but of course so does quality. Sorry Ten – you lost me with changing Glee and Good Wife times that I now watch weeks later – how many more do you want to do it too?
I will still live blog YTT whenever on by the way. Leave comments below if you want them passed on to Ten. Johnny Young and the team and all behind the scenes, deserve more than this callousness by Ten.
