Dancing With the Stars season 12 kicks off tonight with regular judges Todd McKenney, Helen Richey and Joshua Horner. Daniel MacPherson is back to host along with Mel B who is replacing Sonia Kruger.
Daniel welcomes his new partner in crime, Mel B who looks fantastic, who came runner up in the US version. Mel comes across very sincere and even though she says she is nervous, she’s not coming across that way. I prefer her to Sonia already.
Up first tonight is former X Factor contestant Johnny Ruffo.
Johnny Ruffo / Luda Kroiter
Dance – Cha-cha to “Troublemaker” by Taio Cruz

Todd = 7/10 – Todd thinks for a first effort was incredible.
Helen = 7/10 – Thinks the girls will love him and thinks will improve like he did on X Factor. Needs to learn to use his legs better.
Joshua = 6/10 – Thinks is charasmatic, but has to watch his hands. He also gets in trouble for tweeting at rehersals – that’s when Todd makes a joke that Sonia just tweeted him!
= 20/30
Erin McNaught / Gleb Savchenko
Dance – Cha-Cha to Rihanna’s “We found love”

Todd = 5/10 – She looked nervous, was stiff and needs fluidity and to be more sultry.
Helen = 6/10 – Was glad she practised walking, a has turned in feet – and walking is very important in dance. She was nervous but quite a good job.
Joshua = 5/10 – Choreography was limited and her feathers were distracting that she was wearing.
Mel B says the judges were harsh, but Erin agrees with them, until the scores were revealed.
16/30
Caine Eckstein / Jess Prince
Haha, Caine couldn’t do rehersals without sticking his tongue out. I so do that too! During the dance they do a lift and the crowd loves it.
Dance – Viennese Waltz to Lifehouse’s “You and Me”

Todd = 7/10 – Todd was too busy looking for Caine’s tongue to watch the dance – hehe. Thinks that he his a natural and committed.
Helen = 7/10 – Needs to improve on his foot work, but think will be fine.
Joshua = 7/10 – SHOCKED. Thinks he was great and was awesome.
=21/30
Brian Mannix / Melanie Hooper
Dance – Cha-Cha to “Moves like Jagger” by Maroon 5

Todd = 5/10 – Moves not Jaggers, but entertaining. Liked that it ended! Thinks he looked like Rod Stewarts pygmy love child! But loved it!
Helen = 5/10 – Full of conviction, terrible dancer but great effort and entertaining.
Joshua = 6/10 – Has the swagger like Jagger – but looked like a puppy running for a schmacko.
The crowd loved it and that Josh gave 6. Poor Brian – his kids are going for Shannon.
=16/30
Danielle Spencer / Damian Whitewood
Dance – Viennese Waltz to Adele’s “One and Only”

Todd = 8/10 – You Could win this! She’s the type that will run with it and absorb the music. Thinks if she lets herself go is the winner.
Helen = 9/10 – Beautiful. Helen can tell has danced before as she has posture. Great start.
Joshua = 8/10 – Is asthmatic so will keep it short – breathtaking!
=25/30
Shannon Noll / Elena Samodanova
Dance – Cha-Cha to “Start me up” by the Rolling Stones

Todd = 5/10 – The start was greaat and died out. Needed more Shannon than Elena.
Helen = 6/10 – The ladies love him but it won’t be that easy. It will be hard going for him and was ok.
Joshua = 5/10 – Great energy – not enough steps – crowd unhappy.
= 16/30
Jessica Watson / Damien Samuel
Dance – Viennese Waltz to Avril Lavigne’s “I’m with you”

Todd = 6/10 – Choreography was great but ALOT of work to do!
Helen = 6/10 – Lovely moments. Safe performance and thinks will find her dancing legs.
Joshua = 6/10 – someone so young and vunerable and thought could be an actress. Loved it!
= 18/30
Vogue Williams / Christopher Page
Dance – Cha-Cha to “It’s a Shame” by the Spinners.

Todd = 4/10 – Dance was bad – didn’t go anywear. Was like knickers on and wants them off. bad choreography!
Helen =5 /10 – She has it but not coming through.
Joshua = 5/10 – Liked the choreography, thinks will get there.
= 14/30
Mel B think they had the most fun – if want more votes – take off her knickers! Loving Mel B!
Zoe Cramond / Aric Yegudkin
Dance – Viennese Waltz to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

Todd = 9/10 – Great – them and Danielle are the highlights of the night, so far.
Helen = 9/10 – Vey impressed and obvious she has danced, then goes technical
Joshua = /910 – WOW, WOW, WOW – loved it.
Brendan Fevola / Jessica Raffa
Dance – Viennese Waltz to “Somebody to love” by Queen

Todd = 7/10 – Really uprised – but had stregth – if a bit Shrek like.
Helen = 6/10 – Pleasently suprised.
Joshua = 7/10 – Is funny, can play footy and dance! Well Done.
= 20/30
Kerri-Anne Kennerley (KAK) / Carmello Pizzino
I love KAK but lovey – you need to stop the botox!
Dance – Cha-Cha to Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive”

Todd = 8/10 – Is a cougar and that was exciting and as Seven have promoted so much was good to see her dance,
Helen = 7/10 – Should be proud,
Joshua = 7/10- Loved it
Zoe is 1st, then Danielle and then KAK! Poor Vogue is on the bottom.
Even though there was shameless promotion of AGT, X Factor and Rafters and I was dreading this recap, I really enjoyed it. I loved Mel and think she took the show to a better height. she made it for me, along with some pretty good dancing.
