It’s the rise and rise of Hayden Quinn.
Since becoming a contestant on 2011′s series of MasterChef Australia, Hayden has done it all- commentating IronMan on television, writing a book and now, winning the title of CLEO Bachelor of the Year 2012.
The surf lifesaver-turned-celebrity cook beat out other reality television star entrants such as Timomatic (So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2009/ Australia’s Got Talent 2011), Johnny Ruffo (who came second, The X Factor Australia 2011/ Dancing With the Stars 2012) and Nathan Jolliffe (The Amazing Race Australia 2011/ Celebrity Apprentice Australia 2012).
The result was announced at an event in Sydney earlier tonight. ”It was a surprise and it was such an amazing contingency of guys up there (on stage). It was truly an honour to be named the 25th-year CLEO Bachelor of the Year,” he told AAP.
Hayden has really been the new breakout star of MasterChef Australia, which is saying something coming from a competitor on the most poorly received season to date. It seems the run of good luck may not end there. In an interview he gave to Throng earlier in the year, Quinn hinted at possible television projects down the road.
But we here at Throng never doubted him…he came a respectable tenth in our Top 20 Reality Television Stars of 2011 list!
MasterChef Australia 2012 goes to air soon on Ten.
