Potential Spoiler: Biggest Loser Advertisement Reveals Elimination Result?

Anyone who watched tonight’s episode of The Biggest Loser: Singles may have caught a glimpse at the Face Your Fears promotion tagged on the end. If you watched close enough, it seems Ten have failed to cover up this week’s evictee.

From promotions, or even just from a quick look at the EPG, it’s clear that there will be an elimination this week. Confirmed tonight on the challenge episode of The Biggest Loser: Singles, the final seven will indeed become the final six on Sunday’s show. From here, the competition moves to Switzerland for the week, in a special ‘Face Your Fears’ series of episodes.

In a promotion at the end of tonight’s episode, scenes were also shown from that week. The very first scene showed Margie read out to the group that they were going to Switzerland, and the excited look on the faces of Brenda, Bek, Alex and Kasey, all of whom appear throughout the lengthy clip in cutaways or just general scenes.

Two contestants, Graham and Lydia, were not shown deliberately on camera, suggesting producers attempted to make it look like either one of these two had gone home in Sunday’s elimination.

This would have worked, had it not been for a sneaky shot of Graham falling of a bob sled.

Towards the end of the clip, a very fleeting shot of a contestant going down a hill is shown. During the micro-scene, the helmet comes off of the head to reveal that the contestant is Graham. Only two contestants have balding heads, Alex and Graham. However Alex has no hairs on his head at all. The man whose helmet comes off of his head in this scene has a distinct stubble of brown hair on his head. The size of the man is also proof that it is indeed Graham. Have a look yourself. It would suggest Lydia is eliminated come Sunday.

While this is not definite proof that Lydia will in fact be eliminated, from seeing this myself, I would be 100% confident to put my money on it.

Even if Graham’s head wasn’t shown, for Ten to air a promo featuring five of six contestants heading into that week is just plain ridiculous. When I watch an elimination, I like to think that everyone who enters that weigh in room has an equal shot at going home. It makes the experience more fun to watch. Knowing that the eliminee is either Lydia or Graham takes the fun out of what is usually an important episode of the week, and is obviously risky. Showing that brief glimpse of Graham was either a dumb publicity stunt, or editing gone wrong.

Just last week, I posted an article about how a promotion for one episode mislead viewers into thinking a contestant was given the power to send another contestant home. Just last night I questioned whether this show was running for too long. Maybe it is, and promo-developers are boring of the format that they can’t make decent promotions.

What do you guys think? Did anyone watch the promotion? Did anyone pick up on what I did?

We’ll all find out Sunday, April 22 at 6.30pm on Network Ten.

    Sure
    did notice the error! Doesn’t surprise me – the editing this year has
    been shocking! The show is starting to wear thin – I doubt it will
    return next year. Your thoughts?

    What is the point of telling us the evictee as there is no point in watching the elimination night. Like you said Courtney they failed to cover it up on ”Your Fears Week”
