One word. Switzerland!
The contestants sleepily get up to the noise of a horn and a rattle. What could that be? They all walk out to…snow? Something that resembles snow at least. They look down onto the foreground to see a weird Nordic looking band playing some music. A woman gives Margie a letter, she speaks a different language.
The Letter: It’s Face-Your-Fears Week to be held in SWITZERLAND.
They all get ready and talk about the week that will be. It’s then time for them to leave for Switzerland. They walk out into the cold in Zurich and while the flight exhausted them, they can’t wait to see Switzerland. Their accommodation is absolutely beautiful, set in a very traditional and pristine town. I would LOVE to live there!
Not sure the name of the village they are living at. Inverlagen or something?? Anyway, Margie is annoyed at the lack of Swiss chocolates. A letter in the kitchen asks them to catch a train in the morning to the location of their first ‘challenge’. Margie has a major issue with heights, which is what it seems this challenge will be based around.
Opinion point: Face-Your-Fears week. A week to be afraid of, or to look forward to in CBL?
The next day, they head up the hill! They’re in a place called Jungfraujoch. They must then hike the rest of the way up to the top of the mountain. They are blown away. Up on the top, the trainers welcome them to their first day in Switzerland. They tell them why they are in Switzerland- and that they’ve raised the bar this week.
With that, a chopper comes to pick them up! Margie begins to freak out. And even moreso when she finds out she will be skydiving out of it! Bek, Brenda and Kasey will be skydiving 5,000m out of the chopper. Graham, Alex & Margie will not be getting out of this easily. They’re going this afternoon.
Kasey is happy to do this challenge as she’s been struggling with self-belief. This will help her. She then straps in. Up in the air, she gets nervous. Can she do it? Eventually, yes! She can’t believe how much of a panic attack she had over it. Next up is Bek. Same deal here. She’s a little less hesitant about it. Last up is Brenda, and she isn’t coping half as well. She has terror in her eyes. Will she make it? Shannan is there to give her support. She goes out and is startled by the experience. She did it, and she looks like she enjoyed it in the end!
It’s then time for Graham, Alex and Margie’s turn to face their fears. They head to a hill cliff face and Margie is shitting herself. They’re going to be freefalling 80m before going on a canyon swing! Alex and Margie already write themselves off. Graham won’t be doing this- he will be doing a 90m abseil down a steeper cliff, but he’s excited. They then go to face them.
Opinion point: Cliff free-fall and swing, abseiling or skydiving. What would you do?
Alex is first to be convinced to jump. He’s freaking out. He gets up to the jump and he proclaims he can’t but out of nowhere, he just jumps. It looks terrifying because it’s an actual drop, not just a bungee. And next up, is Margie! But before we see her jump, it’s time to check in to Graham. He’s excited, so it’s relatively easy for Commando to convince him to do it. He goes down with him! He’s happy to have done it.
It’s now finally time for Margie’s shot! She is going ballistic; she just doesn’t want to do this! She freaked out over a trapeze class, so I don’t know how she’s gonna do this! Michelle tries to calm her and talk her into doing it. She seems to do a good job, but Margie isn’t putting up a convincing act of being calm! She is convinced she is going to die. To be honest, Margie is hilarious. ‘I’m too fat, man’, ‘I’m going to shit my pants’, ‘I’m just really scared, Mish’.
And after a good while, she does it. I must say, after all of that, it is such a good feeling to see her do it. She screams that it is amazing and that she loves it. Afterwards, she thinks she is in heaven and that she is about to date Michelle. Oh, the good Margie is back!! Better than ever. And that little breakthrough ends the episode.
