Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Scotty’s Challenge #1
Again, this is not just an Unlocked episode- but there is three days to go until the first room reveal (In show), so let’s see how they are all going.
Wild weather has lashed the brother’s house overnight, so they need to get on with repairing the roof. Brad & Lara have quite a few things to do before painting, so with such little time, they better hustle. Dale & Sophie are still knocking a hole in one of their walls. Dale is still able to complete the first coat of paint easily. Dan & Dani go to Maccas for a huge serving of breakfast and product placement. They are more surprised at how relaxed people are sometimes.
After the break, Keith goes around to inspect the damage from the storm. He finds out their leaks are due to a ripped tarp on the roof. They drain it and replace it however in the process; they’ve flooded a bit of Brad & Lara’s inside area. Meanwhile, Dale gets on to painting the fireplace. Dan & Dani have gone out to buy modern furniture, however it could prove costly. Dani buys a very interesting looking picture which acts as a ‘secret weapon’; however Mike & Andrew have their own secret weapon in the form of a tilt away bed. The secret doesn’t stay secret for long, as a truck outside gives it away to Brad & Lara.
Dan & Dani feel the brothers are copying them, but Sophie & Dale are just pissed that they’re trying to keep a secret. We then see scenes of the usual Block antics that occur- like Brad wearing some implement over his head!
Dale shows off his makeshift paint holder, which is supposed to make painting a breeze. Brad & Lara continue their search for furniture. Afterwards, Shelley comes to inspect the rooms. She doesn’t seem to like Brad & Lara’s empty bookshelf but makes sure they go into the room reveal with the best chance.
We then head into The Block: Unlocked and one interesting segment is Scotty’s little historical tour of Melbourne. From then, it’s just a recap of the week that has been. We get some footage of contestants attaining their ‘white cards’, which is required to work safely on a construction site.
Shelley goes to visit Sophie & Dale and is a bit concerned by their chairs, which are a bit rustic. Also included here are judge opinions, but final opinions will be revealed on Sunday.
The Block next airs Apr 27 at 7PM on Nine.
