Melbourne Only (and VIC regionals that air Melbourne’s 6pm News)
SEVEN News will present a special broadcast live from the Royal Children’s Hospital tonight, as preparations continue for the 2012 Good Friday Appeal.
Presenter Peter Mitchell will be at the hospital as we speak with the organisers who make it happen, with a full recap on news of the day.
Sports presenter Sandy Roberts and weather presenter David Brown will join Peter, as we prepare to celebrate this special day on the state’s calendar.
Seven News Director Steve Carey said the appeal was a big event.
“Seven News is proud to share with viewers the great work done by the team at RCH, and why the Good Friday Appeal is so important to all Victorians.”
Tomorrow the biggest names in television and entertainment will gather for what promises to be the most spectacular Good Friday Appeal yet, with all money raised going towards medical equipment and research at the hospital.
This iconic and unrivalled fundraising event – which started in 1931 and has been broadcast by Seven for 55 consecutive years – has so far contributed more than $226 million to the Royal Children’s Hospital. Victorians donated a record breaking $15,156,000 and organisers hope to create a new record when the broadcast kicks off tomorrow at 9am.
