Tonight is the third semi-final and the team open with “Don’t Hold Back” by the Potbelleez. The dancing is pretty good but the version is a bit sedate.
Maria Suraci, 16, is the first contestant and the opera singer will perform “Ave Maria”. Her voice is sensational, but yet again like last week I am bored. Maybe I want more bang for my buck on a Friday night? Tina says she has an angelic voice but watch her pronounciation. Chucky thinks she’s brilliant but could have used her body more, Dicko thinks she has a gift but agrees that she needed to communicate the song more.
Rob Mills sings “Come Together” by The Beatles with Sean, Adrien and Tyler.
This is more like it! Serena and Nicholas hit the stage to sing David Guetta’s “Titanium”, it’s great that it’s upbeatand to see Nicholas, who you hardly ever see.
The second contestant Tash, is singing Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” and is really good, I really enjoyed her energy and seems a sweetie. Dicko says just because you can doesn’t mean you should, talking about the piano. Certainly you are talented on the piano, but she’s a born performer and would love to have seen her work the crowd as she was fantastic. Chucky loved that she was at the piano, but Tina agreess with Dicko.
Damien Leith along with Georgia May and Michelle sing his song “Beautiful” – a bit of a snooze fest!
Michael Dameski is the final contestant tonight and is dancing to Deadmou5′s “Raise your weapon”
. It started off really slow but this boy has picked up the pace! He’s really good, an incredible gymnast as well as dancer. Chucky thinks his timing was incredible and he was really connected – great technique. Tina liked the build up, beautiful! Dicko loved it but wants the story explained. Michael explains it was about a friend ship he was tring to repair (the slow part) and the fast part is when he reaalises the persons ego is too overblown and get’s “pissed off” hahahaha – wouldn’t of said that on YTT in my day!
Zac Efron meets up with Chucky and Michelle to promote his new movie “The Lucky One”. Chucky choreographed the “High School Musical” trilogy and if you want to know more about Chucky his experience with High School Musical – you can read my interview with Chucky here.
Tonights winner is about to be announced, I’m going for Tash! Tonights winner is … TASH! Yeah!!!!! Lyndall and Adrien now sing Adam Lambert’s “If I Had You”. Haha I saw Adam perform this at X Factor – two studio’s down. I prefer Adam’s version, but I do love Lyndall and Adrien.
Next week is the Wildcard special semi-final where all 9 will perform and one will go through to the YTT grand final.
itunes are all the cast’s version and in the case of contestants, the original artist and song is listed. Ave Maria here is Beyonce’s version.
