Tonight is the wildcard semi fianl with 9 acts performing. Only one will go through to the Grand Final. Joining Tash, Mark and Georgia McCarthy.
The team open with Robbie Williams “Angels”, unfortunately the youngest cast members sang it and it didn’t convey the passion of the song.
The first act tonight is Lil’ Banditz Krew who are a dance troupe. Tonight they are dancing to a mash up of MJ and JT are pretty good. I just don’t know if the suits work. The JT bit to “SexyBack” is excellent though, we have gymnastics and the choreography is fantastic. They definately improve. Chucky loved the choreography, Tina loved they raised the bar and added tapping. Dicko doesn’t know what they have on their cornflakes, but he wants some.
Next up is Harmony,12 performing “Somewhere (There’s a place for us)” – from West Side Story. Oh my goodness, this girl is phenomenal, so brilliant. Tina says move over Streisand, Dicko loved it and Chucky thinks she can sing anything with that voice and he will remember that forever. The YTT gang sing “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson.
The third wildcard contestant is Michele Boulos singing “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston . I don’t think this was the right song for her. Never reached the great peaks that Whitney did. Dicko thought she’s beautiful but wasn’t that keen. Tina agrees and thinks is capable of more, Chucky liked she sang it her own way. She definately hasn’t made it.
Straight to act four, Tim the magician is up – who I didn’t like the first time, so hopefully it’s better. Not that he has to care what I think. Okay am in the same mind as I was the first time – mediocre, not great TV and please hurry up. They ar elittle kids, guess I’m a cow. Chucky wish he saved the best till last, it was nice. Tina thinks he’s evolved and Dicko loves a young kid doing magic – Yeah he’s not in either.
The YTT members sing P!NKs “Perfect” and when they sing a song by a star I love I usually get annoyed, but thank you Tia! It was almost perfect.
Yeah! Up now are Ryley and the Illagroovers who I saw there live! I’m rooting for these guys, let’s hope they pull it off! Oh dear, still a great performance from the little funksters but not to win. Chucky diplomatically says I love the mix of old with new school, which he said last time. Tina said all are extraordinary, Dicko loves Ryley. Tyler and Michelle sing “One” by U2 – not bad!
The sixth act is acoustic singing duo “Breaking Rundle”, they are good and have a place – is YTT the place for that? I don’t think so. Tina enjoyed it, but more last time. Chucky liked it was honest and they will go far – their own stuff is better like Tina said. Dicko enjoyed it – but their harmonies were too pedestrain – they haven’t made it either. All in my opiniion.
Tia now sings with Adrian “Wild Ones” by Cia and Flo Rida . It actually sounds really good – but he’s the strongest male singer and Tia ties with Lyndall and Serena for me. Now Kiara Rodriguez will sing “All By Myself” by Celine Dion . This song is way too old for her and she is way too deep. Makes me wanna watch Bridget Jones! She’s good. Dicko thinks that it’s too old for 16. Tina struggled with the song but she had the power in her voice. Chucky liked it and was better than last time. Nah – No way has she made it!
So far it’s Harmony or Lil’ Banditz Krew – I’d pick Harmony. Now we have Josh and Analise singing “Rocketeer” by Far East Movement . Ooh that’s a bit off key and a bit boring. Dicko isn’t sure Josh can rap and Ananlise’s voice is better. Chucky likes the blend but they didn’t connect. Tina disagrees and thinks Analise is very raw – No Way In Hell have they made it!
Now for little Amanuael – singing Whitney’s “I have Nothing” . I loved this guy the 1st time – lets see now. Oooh I love it! It will be between him and Harmony – in my opinion. But I think Harmony has it in the bag! Tina thinks he’s unbelievable in a key change. Chucky say 2 for 2 – he loved it, Dicko saw hints of a young MJ! A definate contender.
The winner of the wildcard semifinal is ……Amanuael! Ok I was wrong – oooh hang on they want to add another. It’s – Lil’ Banditz. Ok, I was semi close – ok not really at all! Harmony was robbed! The gang close the show with John Paul Young singing “Love is in the Air”.
