Survivor: One World was scheduled to air on Nine Tuesday May 1, at around 10.30pm. A last minute programming change saw Survivor dumped in favour for two repeats of The Big Bang Theory. The first of which was in turn itself changed at the last minute for 2 Broke Girls.
Some printed guides still showed Survivor as being part of Nine’s line up for the night of Tuesday May 1.
At time of writing, Survivor is not scheduled to air on any of Nine’s channels – we have guides covering up to May 13, 2012.
Last night, Tuesday May 1, three out of the top five search terms that drove traffic to Throng Australia were relating to Survivor One World as many fans hit the internet looking for answers. The only search term higher than Survivor last night was Throng itself.
Here at Throng, we recap The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent, The Biggest Loser, The Block and Packed to the Rafters – yet what most people visiting us wanted to know was when will Nine air Survivor: One World?
This week, the show’s 12th episode will air in the US, with the finale only weeks away.
Even if Nine air Survivor: One World every day from May 14 on, they will struggle to catch up with the finale now just weeks away.
Fans of the show who have not gone to other sources to view the show will be left bitterly disappointed as internet spoilers will become harder and harder to avoid. Talk shows like The View and Ellen which air on Nine itself will no doubt make mention of who wins and talk to guests from Survivor. Not to mention ET – which also airs on Nine will cover the story.
This is a very disappointing situation Nine has ended up in. How hard would it have been to air it on GO! or even GEM instead of the inane repeats these two channels are inundated with.
How hard would it have been even to air late night, or on weekends during the day – anywhere in the schedule would have done.
Survivor fans – those who are waiting for Nine to air the show – want answers.
For those who have not waited and have obtained by other means – well, Nine miss out on their views.
NINE: Answer us: Where is Survivor: One World? Why have you not aired the show? Please explain.
Better yet – pass it onto Foxtel – it’d be nice to see Survivor in HD on FOX8 for example.
