Hugh Sheridan Joins Ten's "I Will Survive" as Host

Network Ten is thrilled to announce that after four seasons playing Ben Rafter in Australian drama Packed to the Rafters, four time silver Logie award winner Hugh Sheridan joins TEN as the host of 2012’s newest entertainment show I Will Survive.

An accomplished actor, singer and dancer with extensive experience in musical theatre and a successful album release with Sony Music Australia, Hugh is perfectly placed to lead a cast of hopefuls across the country in search of Australia’s next “triple threat”.

Hugh Sheridan says: “I’m really happy to be given this opportunity and can’t wait to get started. This show is about finding Australian talent, our next big star! Someone who can master not only singing but acting and dancing, arguably the hardest three things we can do as entertainers.”

“I’m really looking forward to getting to know our contestants, and sharing with them what I have learnt on my own journey. It’s gonna be a tough road crossing Australia and staging impressive challenges that will see our 12 contenders battle it out to be ‘the one’.”

Network Ten Chief Executive James Warburton says: “Hugh is an immensely talented young man and signing him to TEN and this project underlines our commitment to reinvestment in content and securing the best people for all our shows. “His arrival at the network is one of a number of key talent announcements we plan to make in the coming months.”

David Mott, Chief Programming Officer at Network Ten, says: “Hugh has carved out an impressive reputation in the Australian television and entertainment industry. He is the perfect host for I Will Survive and a great addition to TEN’s stable of talent.

“This is one of a number of projects we can expect to see Hugh take part with on TEN. “I Will Survive is a fantastic and dynamic new format that lends itself to exploring a number of entertainment opportunities. This year Priscilla, next year who knows?” Mr Mott says.

Filming of I Will Survive starts in late May and the series is set to air on TEN later this year.
