‘Big Kev’ is a positive, laid back Canadian who loves playing rugby, cooking for friends, throwing parties and reading cook books.

Kevin decided to leave Canada when he came to a realisation that there was more to life than just working and felt compelled to travel the world.
Kevin is in a relationship with fellow Canadian Erik, they met whilst backpacking around Australia. Kevin plays for Australia’s most successful gay rugby union team – The Sydney Convicts.
“I consider myself passionate and enthusiastic, nothing is done half-way, I always throw my heart and soul into work and relationships.”
Food was very simple growing up but both parents were keen cooks. Kevin says one of his first cooking triumphs was replicating his dad’s chilli dip when he was in his early teens. He also remembers having family lobster bakes at the beach and his Dad’s seafood chowder.
When Kevin went to University his mother bought him a cheesecake cookbook and he got into making them for his friends for special occasions like birthdays.
“I became quite famous for my cheesecakes!”
Kevin is very creative and experimental in his cooking. His cheesecake ‘fame’ gave him confidence to express himself in the kitchen but he still likes to follow a recipe.
“I find it rewarding to be able to cook for others and make them feel special by spending some time in the kitchen and putting together a thoughtful meal for them.”
It was Kevin’s Cider Can Chicken that meant he was first through to the Top 24.
His dream is to improve the types and quality of food sold at sports stadiums in Australia.
