Recap: The Block Season Five – Shelley Craft Challenge #2 Part #2

Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Shelley Craft Challenge #2

Pinch and a punch guys! Tonight, the contestants put all their earning on the line and gamble double or nothing. Who will come out on tops?

The contestants wake up from their sleep over at Sovereign Hill. They are nervous about losing their money. Here are what the contestants made yesterday:

Challenge Results

Sophie & Dale: $1,617.75

Brad & Lara: $3,282.75

Dan & Dani: $3,748.95

Mike & Andrew: $1,351.35

The contestants split into two teams.

Teams: Brad & Lara and Sophie & Dale are on Team 1. Dan & Dani and the brothers are on Team 2.

Challenge Brief: Best of three wins, will win someone double points. The losers walk away with nothing! The first game is a horseshoe toss. Everyone must throw four shoes each and the team with the most horseshoes around the pole wins.

Results

Team 1: 0 Horseshoes

Team 2: 1 Horseshoe

Team Two wins

Challenge 2 Brief: It’s Bowling; however they’re doing it pioneer style- in which contestants could score a 60 overall in just one bowl.

Results

Team 1: 32 Points

Team 2: 38 Points

Team Two wins this game, the challenge, they both double their money and the losers lose everything:

Sophie & Dale: $0

Brad & Lara: $0

Dan & Dani: $7,497.9

Mike & Andrew: $2,702.7

Mike and Andrew are annoyed that Dan & Dani won so much, but this is despite the fact they too have won some more cash!

Opinion point: Happy with the results?

Now it’s time for some construction- and with two rooms to complete and Scotty’s challenge to come- they better get cracking. Keith is waiting for them to tell them some news; however Dan & Dani decide to do some shopping before getting home. The rest go home where Keith tells them that they have to build their ensuite walls (which have not been constructed) by 8am the next morning for the glass company to measure up. Teams get their tradies into overdrive. This is unfortunate for Dan & Dani- two hours of eight hour work and they’re out shopping. They do seem to find some stylish appliances. They then go home one hour after curfew.

The next day, Keith catches up with them. He’s not happy, but whose idea was it to put a 2 day challenge right before the measurers were supposed to come. Keith quashes the brother’s idea of putting pipes through the fire wall before Dale asks Sophie if their room could have a wall to wall shower that would require the tenants to walk through the shower to go to the toilet. Sophie doesn’t like the idea, but it is to space-save.

Scott has fun with the cars by switching some of them around before Dan begins work on his ensuite for the glass people. After the break, Brad & Lara go over their ‘grand plans’ with the viewers. Dale still wants his ‘wet room’ idea to go ahead but Sophie is having none of it. She goes next door to find support. The brothers agree with her. Dan & Dani are still in the race against time. Stegbar are already doing the surveys and they realise that Dan & Dani are not done. The rep is not happy about having to come back! Sophie & Dale continue to argue. Dale is losing and he is absolutely pissed.

Dan rushes to get the insulation and flooring in so the Stegbar guys can measure up but Dani is back out shopping! Not only that, she’s having second thoughts on some of her choices. Dan is furious at her decisions.

Mike & Andrew hit a snag when the find out one of their ideas may not be completeable; but Dani & Dan have bigger issues- they can’t install their vital ensuite wall until their windows are installed- which they haven’t been. They are screwed!

Opinion point: Should Dan & Dani get more help in situations like this?

The next day, Dan & Dani’s windows are installed quickly and they begin to complete their ensuite wall. They all then begin to measure up for their back walls- and with measurements having to be exact- this is tedious. Dan & Dani misses out on getting glass wall so they have to go for tiles. Sophie & Dale also look at tile just in case their measurements are off. Speaking of, Brad doesn’t get his measurements in on time, with Andrew close to not finishing. Brad estimates the rest of his measurements, giving Andrew some more time to complete his measurements- however despite being deadly accurate- a burst pipe threatens to wash them all away!

The Block next airs May 2 at 7PM on Nine.
