Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Hell Week
It’s time to unwind and unlock…for Block Unlocked! Mainly a recap tonight, we also get to see the thoughts from contestants about other contestant’s rooms.
We seem to start the episode by recapping the LAST week’s first room. Dan & Dani explain their room first. We are reminded of the judges’ comments. The neighbours then go to inspect the home.
Brad & Lara pick up on the modern feel however Dale & Sophie don’t like it. Andrew & Mike see it as expensive, but not better than theirs. Brad & Lara also think it wasn’t winning material.
Sophie & Dale’s room is next for inspection. The contestants like the light but they scoff at the chairs. Dan & Dani don’t think it is the right room for the suburb.
The next room is Mike & Andrew’s room. Dan & Dani pick up on the poor attention to detail. Sophie & Dale are wowed by the stowaway bed.
Brad & Lara are last for inspection as the chumps for the week. Brad clearly didn’t take the judge’s comments well. Sophie & Dale love the criticised fireplace. Mike & Andrew also love it, with one claiming he’d buy the house for the fireplace. Some detail is criticised.

After the break, we recap hell week. Ooooohhhhh, spooky! We see more comments from Shelley & Scott who are talking to Dan & Dani about not finishing the room due to the smashed glass. Shaynna has a high expectation of the group and John wants them to keep on going because he thinks they’ll be hard to beat if they do.
By the time Shelley & Scott arrive, Andrew & Mike’s room is actually coming along quite nicely and there is minimal stressed. John thinks they have started well and they should create an outstanding home. Neale will be looking for sliding panels and hidden doors in the next room reveal!
After the break, we see the contestants having some fun on hell week to end the episode.
The Block next airs May 4 at 7PM on Nine.
