Previous Episode: The Celebrity Apprentice Australia Season Two – Challenge & Elimination #7
It’s the final challenge and the contestants walk into a Today Network radio station for the brief.
Challenge Brief: For Stage 1 of this challenge, they will write and produce a charity song inspired by the theme, Make A Difference. They will work in pairs. Industry experts will be judging who has the most viable commercial song. The team who loses stage 1 will be fired.
Teams: Nathan & Dicko in Team Fortune. Lauryn & Ben in Team Platinum.
They then go to work out their concepts. Dicko isn’t coping with the pressure but Lauryn is pumped and wants to beat the other team. Dicko has a lot of experience but his confidence is low. Ben breaks a light on his way in to his boardroom! John Paul Young comes to mentor them for their pitch. Lauryn knew his name, Ben knew his face! For Team Fortune, they have Mark Gable. They all get on with song writing.
Team Platinum decides for a pop song, but Nathan wants a rock song for Fortune. Dicko doesn’t agree. After a while, John Paul Young pisses Ben Dark off by not singing his heartfelt song, putting his whole campaign at risk. It does the trick.
Dicko says the challenge has shown that he still has things to offer to people. OF COURSE HE DOES! He’s Dicko!
The next day, they pick up their demo songs to present to Mark in the boardroom. When they pick up the song, it is the first time Nathan and Dicko have heard the song with their female vocalist. Lauryn & Ben are not happy with John’s final product so they go to add their own voice to the recording. Nathan isn’t too happy with their track, but Dicko loves it!
After the break, it’s boardroom.
The Boardroom
Mark walks in after the contestants and asks them a few questions. Before this, he thanks them all for their work over the season.
Answers to Questions: Dicko has been a fan of Nathan since day one. Nathan was overwhelmed with everyone but has learned a lot from Dicko. Ben feels he hasn’t measured Lauryn and Nathan short after seeing Jesinta last year. Lauryn says Ben is hilarious and brings a great sense of humour to the group. Ben hasn’t thought about whether or not Dicko has an advantage in this challenge. Lauryn thinks he has a bit of an edge, but not an advantage. Dicko says he has kept a clear slate until his team sat down and briefed. Nathan loved the challenge after finding his feet. Ben said he has an edge because he used to be in a band as a lead singer. Mark then puts on Dicko & Nathan’s song as Ben loves it. After Dicko & Nathan discuss their inspirations, Mark plays Ben & Lauryn’s song. I quite like it! It’s very well received.
Money Raised: No money raised, but the team to progress is Team Fortune. Team Platinum will be going home.
Elimination Result: Lauryn Eagle & Ben Dark …You’re fired.
Challenge Brief: Next time, they will have to remix their music, create a video clip and present it. They will have help from celebrities from this season and last! Should be fun!
