Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Shelley Gets Sustainable!
No challenges, no distractions- it’s all work for the master bathroom! But I don’t think it will all go so smoothly.
They have a bit of time left on this room, but there’s still a lot to do. Dan doesn’t want things to go astray like it did in the ensuite week so he tries to get things done and keep organised, but it isn’t long before Keith comes around and forces him to change a few things or add jobs to his list. They need to build a mid-wall as part of the structure- as does Brad & Lara. It makes them angry due to the late notice. For Brad & Lara, it means stuffing up their luxurious plans. Keith also finds out that a plumber has drilled through a corner of a Posi-Strut, which is a big no-no and will set them back.
Andrew has had to attend a wedding in Sydney, so Mike is flying solo today. He is going out to pick out a whole heap of stuff for the room. Mike drags his boots around for spiritual fellowship. Meanwhile, Dale is also flying solo with Sophie battling a migraine. Mike feels he is spending too much time at Reece, but he needs to make sure he has everything down pat to save future problems.
Dan gets annoyed after finding out it won’t fit, due kind of because of the mid wall that is required. While working out finances, Dan & Dani can’t believe how some couples can do this without money. Soon, their massive bath is on the way to The Block after Dan clears room for it. The only problem is they may not have enough doorframe space to fit it in. They do find it fits, so crisis averted.
After the break, Brad & Lara find out that their mid wall will have to go smack bang in the middle of the bathroom, evaporating their plans for a laundry. They have to draw up new plans. It takes them some time to think one up. Keith comes back again with Julian, the site architect. They’ve worked out a relief plan which is to remove the mid wall design, allowing them to use their original design. Great!
Dani buys some expensive wallpaper to put on some glass! Stegbar has never done this before, but they are willing to hear them out. They soon decide to scrap the plan and go out to buy tiles instead. Meanwhile, Brad and Lara argue on colour and design, with Lara winning the argument with the help of some pros.
Dan & Dani are getting ready for wet-sealing today which should put them a full day ahead. Brad & Lara also try to do as much as possible before noise restrictions set in. They soon set in but Dan & Dani don’t seem to listen. Dani contemplates just wearing the fine- and she closes some windows so they can do a bit more drilling. Brad & Lara are not happy and want them to get a $1500 fine. Dale is also annoyed. Ooh, a bit of cheating controversy.
After the break, Shelley takes the girls out for a bit of pampering at a spa. The boys also go out for beers.
