The Block Season Five – Donation Auction Time

Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Father Bob McGuire Challenge

It’s time for the auction…but not the one you’re thinking of. Contestants auction off their donated items in the search for holy cash! Who will triumph?

We begin the episode with contestants readying up for another day of Block-mania. It seems contestants are getting their solar panels up! The hardest task, according to Brad, is getting everything they need up to the third floor. In their utility room upstairs, Brad & Lara are planning for a laundry bar idea. Money is their biggest hurdle right now, as it is for everyone. Meanwhile, back to Brad & Lara, and the couple argue about the size of a drawer they want in their laundry bar. But knowing this couple, the argument soon turns into giggles.

After the break, the contestants lavish in the view from the third level. The brothers are working out the best way to capitalise the view. They have to negotiate with Dale & Sophie on how they will split their conjoined space. Dan & Dani and Brad & Lara do the same. They think about a frosted glass dividing wall.

Meanwhile, Dan & Dani are turning their utilities room into a study. This is the couple who did the fourth bedroom, so this should be a good decision. Unfortunately, they can’t afford a builder, so they’re gonna be doing a lot themselves. Dani goes out to buy some stuff on minimal budget. They argue.

Speaking of, Dale & Sophie want a large dividing wall, which may hinder the view of the brother’s house. They work out a deal. In contrast, Dan & Dani’s argument ends up with a hang up! They are arguing over the top. Fair enough- Dani wants to buy a $1,000 piece of furniture!

After the break, it’s time for the auction!

They all get dressed up for the auction. They are all nervous. Who can win?

Auction Results

Winners: Brad & Lara and Sophie & Dale raise $39,200, winning the $5,000 between them.

Overall Raised: $58,010.00

The Block next airs May 30 at 7PM on Nine.
