Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Triple Threat Room Reveal
It’s a challenge sent from the heavens…or at least from Father Bob’s church, as the contestants raise money for charity in Shelley’s fifth challenge.
So another triple-room week begins (Rooftop, stairs leading to the rooftop and the rooftop vestibule. The contestants are strapped for cash, with Dale really struggling to pay off his tradies. Luckily, their challenge awaits…just across the road at Father Bob’s church.
Challenge Brief: They must gather donations to create features for a charity auction, which they must present themselves at the auction. They will be working in teams (Dale & Sophie and Brad & Lara in team 1 with Dan & Dani and Mike & Andrew in team 2). The team that raises the most money will share in $5,000. They have silver gnomes to sell.
They get onto the challenge by discussing what clients to go to for donations. Dale suggested Ferrari. Doesn’t hurt to think outside the box…Also, I’m not surprised Suzuki is a client suggested, as well as Flight Centre.
They then begin to do the rounds. Dale & Sophie are able to grab an arm-chair off of one business. Brad & Lara are also at Jetmaster to pick up a heat-n-glow for the auction. Great buys! Brad then goes off to get donations from Suzuki. Speaking of, Mike & Andrew have the same idea; however Suzuki goes for the team who asked first- Brad & Lara. Mike & Andrew are not happy and it encourages team mate’s Dan & Dani to move. Dani then goes and find a few good buys. The brothers are heading to the MCG for more donations. They didn’t get a very warm reception.
Meanwhile, Brad & Lara scores tickets for four for a dinner with John Alouisi. MASSIVE! I think they’ve all done well, with the brothers also finding a buyer. To finish the day, Dale & Sophie and Dan & Dani both make massive finds.
The auction is tomorrow, so the contestants can spend the rest of the day stressing over their houses!
The Block next airs May 29 at 7PM on Nine.
