Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – MORE Upstairs Downstairs Week
It’s been more hell than hell week- it’s the room reveal for upstairs downstairs week! Who will win?
The contestants have 24 hours to go, and there are that many tradies on site to help the four teams, it’s a surprise anyone can walk up the stairs! They leave a big mess though, annoying Dani and some other competitors…and Keith is also not so happy with the traffic either. Dan thinks they are nearly done but Dani is not happy with the unfitting wardrobes and chipped finishes.
Lara takes Brad to what Brad thinks is a furniture run, but he later finds out it is a fitness trip to AAMI Park. We are reminded of Sophie’s ‘nice’ table and Dale and his mate decide to make it distressed. It does not look good, and Sophie has no idea!
She comes back after grabbing some firewood, but doesn’t like the job Dale had done. Seems Dale is in the doghouse!
Only a few hours away from tools down, Andrew & Mike decide to make a tree decoration for their bedroom just as their glass arrives. They’re also waiting on some marble slab, but they find out it will be delivered tomorrow- the final day.
Dani comes home and sees that all their furniture is too big for their room. They just have to make do with what they have but Dani is so disappointed and Dan has no idea when he is going to be able to surprise Dani with the streak dinner he had planned.
They finally find time to leave the site for a bit while Dale & Brad help set up a ‘romantic’ setting in the to-be kitchen area. They then role play and Dale’s impersonation of Dani is hilarious. She is quite happy with his effort when she sees it and she is immediately relaxed.
The next day, we find out that the brothers have again pulled an all-nighter. Dani has a cold and has only had two hours sleep. They work their asses off to get their stuff done! Soon, time is up. It’s so good to see the smiles on their faces.
Room Reveal Score
This year, contestants are scored out of 30- 10 points per judge. This week, they are joined by Lisa Green. Shaynna is off sick!
Dan & Dani’s room
Neale Whitaker: Says the room feels small but the colours close it in. Likes their styling. Wants to jump into the bed.
Lisa Green: Calls the bedroom ‘serene’ and cocooned. Likes the artwork.
John McGrath: Space in the bedroom is an issue. Seems to like the toilet, calling this a tough week.

Dale & Sophie’s room
Neale Whitaker: Neale says their bedroom feels warm and nice. Likes the cupboard space. Neale isn’t particularly excited by the toilet. He likes the exposed brick.
Lisa Green: Lisa likes the window seating. She calls the bedroom restful. Likes the exposed brick in the toilet.
John McGrath: John can see the landscaping feel. Thinks there are too many things going on in the bedroom. Also likes exposed brick in the toilet.

Brad & Lara’s room
Neale Whitaker: Isn’t sure about the shelving. Would have liked more design elements but struggles to find flaws. Loves the toilet, it’s exposed brick and mounted basin.
Lisa Green: Also like the wardrobe space and chairs in the bedroom.
John McGrath: Isn’t a fan of the bed head dividing wall. Calls the walk in wardrobe great space.

Mike & Andrew’s room
Neale Whitaker: Thinks the bedroom has a good energy. He likes the measuring chart and windows. Likes the glamour of the toilet.
Lisa Green: Likes the use of space in the bedroom. She likes the block-outs.
John McGrath: Doesn’t know about the marble in the bedroom. He is also questions the idea of having a TV. He is being negative nelly with the toilet as well, calling out all the technical execution problems.

Result: The winner of the $5,000 this week is Dan & Dani. Dale & Sophie are chumps.
