FOX SPORTS SERVES UP MORE THAN 220 HOURS OF WIMBLEDON ACTION IN HD!
The tennis world turns its attention to London next week when the year’s most anticipated Grand Slam comes to life, and FOX SPORTS will provide fans with comprehensive coverage from the court to the locker room.
FOX SPORTS will commence its broadcast of the 2012 Wimbledon Championships this Monday (June 25) when the world’s best tennis players descend on the All England Club to contest the year’s third Grand Slam.
LIVE coverage will begin at 8.00pm AEST on FOX SPORTS 3HD and FOX SPORTS 3 and continue to the Men’s Quarter Finals on July 5.
Across the 13 days of competition, viewers will be treated to more than 220 hours of coverage with almost 90 hours of LIVE action.
Leading FOX SPORTS’ LIVE daily coverage will be a 30-minute preview show Today at the Championships, hosted by Adam Peacock. Each night at 8.00pm, Peacock will be joined by past and present players to preview the upcoming day’s matches plus provide fans with an intimate look at the stories and characters that make Wimbledon the most prestigious of all Slams.
Calling all the action for FOX SPORTS is the country’s most recognised tennis commentator and analyst, Wally Masur, who will be joined by former Australian star Alicia Molik and experts Roger Rasheed and Josh Eagle.
Additionally, FOX SPORTS will screen highlights of each day’s play throughout The Championships, while FOX SPORTS News and foxsports.com.au will keep viewers up-to-date with all the latest news, highlights and LIVE match scores. The FOX SPORTS website will also provide daily video reports and exclusive interviews from The All England Club.
World No. 5 Samantha Stosur and 27th-ranked Bernard Tomic will lead the Australian contingent with seven other hopefuls rounding off the local contenders. Stosur, fresh from her French Open semi-final appearance, is desperate to make her Wimbledon breakthrough while 20th seeded Tomic will be out to make the most of his highest Grand Slam seeding.
Wildcard recipient Lleyton Hewitt returns to the famed English grass as the last Aussie to hoist the prized silverware after winning his first Wimbledon title in 2002.
Following her emphatic French Open victory, World No. 1 Maria Sharapova will head to London as the firm favourite in the women’s draw while more records are set to be broken in the men’s draw with the ‘Big Four’ – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray – all in action.
