It was expected that Black Caviar would win Royal Ascot and she did. In an intense final finish, it came down to a photo call to see who would be the winner.
After a wonderful race, Australia’s Black Caviar won the race in a very proud moment in our history. Black Caviar is our generation’s Phar Lap. She now haads to Hong Kong.
Around 10,000 Aussies headed to Ascot to see the momentous event while no doubt many more watched it live on TV. Meanwhile, a huge gathering viewed the race at Federation Square in central Melbourne to huge cheers and adulation. How proud are we to be Australian!
