Network Ten is thrilled to announce three big name stars sign on for new entertainment program Everybody Dance Now. Host Sarah Murdoch will be joined by singing, song writing and dancing superstars Jason Derulo and Kelly Rowland, whose roles as Dance Masters see their teams go head to head in a series of colosseum-style duels.
As a former ballet student and ambassador for the arts, international model and television presenter, Sarah Murdoch is the perfect candidate to lead this new-style dance format. Passionate about dance, Sarah studied ballet from the age of six, then was accepted into The McDonald College of the Performing Arts and is now an International Ambassador and member of the Board of Directors for The Australian Ballet.
Speaking about the show, Sarah Murdoch said: “Everybody Dance Now combines everything I love about dance. I am so thrilled to be joining TEN with this exciting new show, and together with Kelly and Jason, I look forward to discovering Australia’s most gifted and talented dance performers.”
Chart-topping sensation Jason Derulo has been performing since the age of three. After emerging in 2009, Jason has become a regular fixture on the charts with a steady stream of best-selling singles including ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ and ‘It Girl’ both from Jason’s current album ‘Future History’.
Rounding out the team as Jason’s fierce competition is Grammy-award winner Kelly Rowland. Kicking off her career at the age of eight, Kelly soon rose to fame as one of the founding members of R&B group Destiny’s Child and is now a solo star in her own right.
Network Ten’s Chief Programming Officer David Mott says: “Last month we promised a number of key talent announcements and I’m sure you’ll agree the signing of Sarah, Jason and Kelly proves our commitment to securing the best people for our programs.
“We are thrilled about Everybody Dance Now and our return to big event television. Dynamic, creative and inspiring, Sarah, Jason and Kelly are the perfect fit for this fantastic new format – only good things lie ahead”.
Also joining the team as Creative Director is world renowned choreographer Jason Gilkison. The hunt for two Dance Captains, who will join the teams of Jason and Kelly, is currently underway. With auditions wrapping today in Sydney, Everybody Dance Now is searching for the most entertaining dance act in Australia with a prize pool of more than $450,000.
Starting with over 80 acts competing in a series of dance duels in front of a studio audience, Jason and Kelly will take their teams of duets, troops and solos under their wings and do battle. Everybody Dance Now is a Fremantle Media Australia production to be filmed in Melbourne and air later this year on TEN.
