The Block Season Five – Contestants Struggle To Finish the Bombshell House

Previous Episode: The Block Season Five – Bombshell Week Heats Up

Contestants are fighting all over the shop and problems are popping up like pimples! With so little time, will these guys even finish?

We begin this episode as we’ve began every episode this week- with people working. There is so much going on and even Keith says he’s never had to build a house in a week. There are about 70 tradesmen working on the house. Scott comes to visit them all and first up is Brad & Lara who seem to be happy with the kitchen. He then visits Dan & Dani who seems to have sorted out their BBQ issue. He then goes to see Mike & Andrew who are still sleeping! Dale & Sophie still have a lot to do.

Keith has a problem with some of Dani’s flooring ideas- like the bathroom grate. She and Keith soon argue. Meanwhile, the boys aren’t too happy with all the tradies dumping the new furniture in their room. Because everything has to be done at the same time, there are things that have to be moved out of the way so other things can be done first. With the biggest room, a lot of stuff has to be dumped into the boy’s living area.

After the break, Keith seems to be arguing with everyone. Thankfully, Brad & Lara are close to finishing the first room- the kitchen. Meanwhile, Dale begins painting the bedroom as Sophie goes shopping by the look of it. Mike & Andrew follow suit. Meanwhile, Dani finds a new grate which pleases Keith. Now she is annoyed at the spacing of the shower heads.

After the break, Dan feels happy about gloating about building a house in one week. Soon, the sun sets and the plastering continues. Dan professes being back on schedule. Dale paints into the night. Mike & Andrew also have no sleep. The next day, they have three days remaining. Not long. Brad & Lara move on renovating the bedroom, which has caused major problems. And today, their plaster breaks!

Good news is the tilers have started work early on Dan & Dani’s bathroom but Dan is annoyed at how long it takes them. Dani begins painting the fence, but really wants a paint gun. It soon arrives, but Dan takes over when Dani goes shopping for cement. Meanwhile, Sophie & Dale have gone for the same wallpaper idea they used in their study for their bedroom. The brothers are out shopping yet again. They want to make some artwork for their bedroom.

After the break, Melbourne pulls its magic with heavy rain forecast and coming! They quickly prepare for the incoming storm. As it comes down, there’s not much that can be done outside and what they can do indoors is also limited. When the rain ceases, Dan & Dani go outside and begin arguing again after moments of peace and love.

Shelley & Scott come around again for yet another visit. They see Dale & Sophie but there’s not much to see from their façade yet. There’s not much to see indoors either but Shelley looks impressed at their plans. They then visit Brad & Lara. Again, still not much to see but again, they like the plans. They are doing a girls kids room for a bedroom and they admit to being initially nervous about going up against Dale & Sophie’s kids room.

The brothers seem a little more advanced and Scott jokes about their exhaustion. Dan & Dani are last on the list and their wet room is almost finished. Scott says they are on a winner here.

It’s still another night of painting though as the contestants try to finish. The next day, it is the same thing- except with some more panic and determination. Dale is now annoyed that tilers are still utilising his front yard. His synthetic turf arrives for their bedroom and they begin work on that. Brad & Lara see their bedroom for the first time and seem quite nervous about the competition. It does look good. Meanwhile, while the brothers have had a good run with the floors in the living area, but Keith is annoyed at their window job in their bedroom. He is annoyed at their lack of presence this week.

Meanwhile, the brothers are out eating Maccy Dees.

The Block next airs Jun 28 at 7PM on Nine.
