Previous Episode: The Amazing Race Australia Season Two – Contestants Experience Some Turkish Delight

The teams are beginning to dwindle as the final 7 teams head to France! Who will be le loser?

TEAMS:

Shane & Andrew – Cops

Michelle & Jo – Cheerleading Twins

Sticky & Sam – Flatmates

James & Sarah – Dating

Lucy & Emilia – Sisters

Joseph & Grace – Brother/Sister

Paul & Steve – Workmates

We begin at the last pit stop- Beyazit Square where the next leg begins. Paul & Steve will depart first at 11.42am. The cheerleaders leave a short time later. Joseph & Grace and Sticky & Sam leave half an hour later. Lucy & Emilia leave at 1.30pm and soon after is Shane & Andrew. James & Sarah don’t leave until half past four!

Instruction: Teams must fly to Paris, France and travel to Le Cordon Bleu for their next clue.

The contestants are now all off to the airport. This time around, Grace wants her brother to trust in her. Lucy & Emilia are so happy. Shane & Andrew claim this will make their wives jealous. Will they all get on the same flight?

The cheerleaders use their charm to equal the boys. Only the cheerleaders and Paul & Steve make it on flight one. Here is how everyone went.

Flight 1, ARRIVES 4.25pm in PARIS: Michelle & Jo, Paul & Steve.

Flight 2, ARRIVES 5.55pm in PARIS: Joseph & Grace, Sticky & Sam, Shane & Andrew and Lucy & Emilia.

Flight 3, ARRIVES 9.25pm in PARIS: James & Sarah.

Contestants then hurry to their destination. There, they are thrown into a ROADBLOCK!

Road Block: Who’s a rising Star? Contestants must cook a soufflé to the restaurant director’s satisfaction.

There are two classes here.

CLASS 1 (9.00PM): Michelle, Steve, Lucy and Grace.

CLASS 2 (10.00PM): Andrew, Sam and Sarah.

Grace makes a very anti-feminist comment about how wives are good for nothing except cooking- but it’s probably a joke taken out of context by producers. She ends up burning her first batch. Steve gets his first batch done, but they look odd. He still gets the director’s seal of approval and scores his next clue.

Andrew and Sam begin their challenge while Michelle, Lucy & Grace are still going. Soon, James & Sarah also arrive and Sarah begins her cooking. Lucy & Emilia are the next to finish this challenge. Michelle is very confident on her Soufflé however they are undercooked. She has to start again. Grace now has a go. Sam and Andrew shove theirs in at the same time.

Grace is given overwhelming positivity on her soufflé’s taste, but not its structure. She gets the clue anyway. Soon, Michelle also gets the pass. The cops get the number one nod from the director and are off, soon followed by Sticky & Sam. Luckily, Sarah & James are able to leave on the first go.

Instruction: Travel to Rungis Food Market, search through heaps of produce, find a cheese stall, collect a 30kg round of cheese and deliver it to a cheese shop in the centre of Paris. They get the next clue if the cheese is undamaged.

Paul & Steve make it first and begin their search for the cheese stall. They have to look for Jean-Marie. Michelle & Jo are able to catch up, as are the sisters. Michelle & Jo are first to pick up the cheese, shortly followed by Paul & Steve and the sisters. Joseph & Grace get to the market but their taxi driver does not wait for them, posing problems. Shane & Andrew also arrive along with Sticky & Sam and James & Sarah. Everyone is back in this!

Joseph & Grace find a taxi, but its James & Sarah’s who then begin to argue after Joseph & Grace pays the taxi driver more. James & Sarah fight over James’ lack of input to the argument. In the end, Joseph & Grace actually win.

Paul & Steve, Michelle & Jo and Lucy & Emilia make it first with the cheerleaders first overall. James & Sarah are STILL arguing! Meanwhile, Joseph & Grace finish the challenge and move on. Shane & Andrew soon finish their challenge. James & Sarah finally find a cab and make their way to the restaurant. Sticky & Sam are next to finish.

Instruction: Teams must make their way to Debilly Footbridge for their next clue.

Here, they have to search for a painter. Here they receive a new clue. Shane & Andrew decide to walk through Paris as the sun rises and with so many sights to see. Sticky & Sam find it difficult to get a cab so they too walk…to the metro! Nice. Shane & Andrew and Joseph & Grace get their next. James & Sarah make it to the bridge before Sticky & Sam who get lost on the metro.

Instruction: Fly to Havana, Cuba. Here, they must search the airport car park for a car and drive to the Tropicana Nightclub and find the lead showgirl to get their next clue.

Flight 1, ARRIVE 3.10PM in HAVANA: Michelle & Jo, Lucy & Emilia, Paul & Steve, Shane & Andrew and Joseph & Grace.

Flight 2, ARRIVE 5.50PM in HAVANA: Sticky & Sam, James & Sarah.

In Havana, they find out that the cars they are driving are quite vintage…which means more gear stick fun! Michelle & Jo have instant troubles. The cars actually have a lot wrong with them. Lucy & Emilia are also finding the job hard, haha.

As the second flight lands, the fun begins again! Sticky & Sam and James & Sarah witness the wroth of the cars and it seems James & Sarah get the edge on the boys! The other problem is the lack of direction and Lucy & Emilia put their trust in another driver who agrees to take them to their destination. Paul & Steve make it first. Shane & Andrew need a torch to read the map but find it hard to reopen the boot!

Paul & Steve find the clue and surprisingly, it’s the next pit stop! What? Where’s the detour? Oh well, three countries this time around, so can’t blame them! Meanwhile, Shane & Andrew and Joseph & Grace experience car issues, but soon manage to get back on their…wheels! Michelle & Jo are next to find a clue. Meanwhile, Sticky & Sam have issues.

The problem is, the contestants now have to take their cars to the next pit stop. This is gold! Shane & Andrew now have problems AGAIN with their car but it seems as if the problem is unfixable. The same happens to Joseph & Grace whose car begins to smoke. Lucy & Emilia now have car troubles. Bloody hell!

PIT STOP: Hotel Nacional

First: PAUL & STEVE (They’ve won the right to keep racing! It’s a double leg!)

Second: MICHELLE & JO

NO OTHER RESULTS

Result: This is a Double Leg! No one will be eliminated tonight!

News Limited papers report today that James and Sarah have split, with Sarah announcing the break-up on Twitter last Thursday night: “Sadly James & I have split up :( He wants to be single & apparently I’m not what he wants anymore now…” but she added she was still friends with James.
I think this is the first time any version of The Amazing Race has visited Cuba. The original US version of The Amazing Race has never had a leg in Cuba because of continuing US economic sanctions against the communist country.
