Winners & Losers - Season 2 Episode 6: Twists of Fete

Tonight on Winners & Losers…

Just when life seems to be heading in the right direction for our girls, a visit to the hospital fete precipitates a major problem to loom into view for each of them.

It’s the annual hospital fete fundraiser, but the fun and games are tainted for Sophie when rival student, Spencer, accuses her not only of receiving favourable treatment, because of her relationship with Doug, but of having bought her way back into medicine through her generous donation to the hospital. Sophie refutes the claim but when stolen hospital drugs are discovered in her bag, she’s left facing the prospect of not only losing her career but of going to prison as well.

Having raised a hand to Jasmine, Frances’ guilt sees her trying to buy back her half-sister’s affections. Zach goes some way to making Frances see that this does not equate to good parenting but when Frances goes back on a promise to Jasmine, Jasmine sees red. After some subtle advice from Claire, Jasmine does all she can to push Zach to breaking point.

Since their kiss, the awkwardness between Jenny and Lachie has become unbearable. Jenny tries to block it out by throwing her efforts into the band’s first big gig and overcompensating with Callum. However, a visit to Mystic Marg at the fete puts her on shaky ground when Marg reveals Jenny is yet to get together with her true love. Could Lachie be the one after all?

The idea of having a homebirth is growing on Bec but Matt is uneasy about it. When Matt learns about Zach’s horrible birthing experience he puts his foot down – this can’t happen. Doug supports Matt and Bec is furious at the way the issue has played out. Eventually, she realises that there are still a lot of things they need to work out about the baby and the four of them need to sit down and thrash it out.
