Callum Hann Wins MasterChef Australia All Stars

Callum has won in what will be a surely controversial win. Yes he cooked well but was the competition designed for him to? Here are the final results – this post will update.

Having to cook the snow egg that Callum did in his finale – this is the outcome. Callum has done this in a final and what a crock for Chris.

Chris - Their is inconsistency and no finesse but the egg is beautiful, it’s a different take on Peters and there are negative and posotive comments, but it doesn’t look good.
Callum - A bit inconsistent and the ice cream has melted because he has done it out of order. They like the flavour and is like Peters but is a very impressive effort – think he has taken the title.

Chris
Peter – 7
Matt – 8
George – 8
Gary –  7
=  30/40

Callum
Peter – 8
Matt – 9
George – 8
Gary –  9
=  34/40

Callum ended up on 70 to Chris’ 62.

So Callum wins – bloody rigged if you ask me! Congratulations to Callum though. Look forward to a massive rant by me on all of this though. Callum has donated $10,000 of his prize money to Chris’ charity (so sweet) and has himself raised $20,000 for the Cancer Council. What a bittersweet end though to what I thought was a great series. I just don’t think the finale was a level playing field.

Callum Hann from Season Two of MasterChef Australia has been officially crowned the winner of MasterChef All Stars, after a hard-fought final cook-off against Chris Badenoch (Season One) and Kate Bracks (Season Three). The young cook impressed the MasterChef Australia judges, including renowned Australian chefs Maggie Beer and Peter Gilmore, to claim the illustrious title and $20,000 for his charity, Cancer Council.

The nail-biting finale saw Callum, Kate and Chris compete in a sudden death round, where they served up a Maggie Beer-inspired winter family feast. Kate was eliminated from the competition, leaving Chris and Callum to fight it out in the final round. Both were challenged to recreate Peter Gilmore’s famous and notoriously difficult dessert, The Snow Egg. In the end, Callum scored 70 points out of 80, to Chris’ 62 points.

Thrilled with his win, Callum said: “What an unbelievable feeling. I came in as one of the underdogs, so to come out on top was really special.

“The Cancer Council does so much for the families going through what is one of the hardest times of their lives. And having gone through that myself, with my dad, I think this money can go such a long way to help people with the support services they need, and just make their lives that little bit easier.”

During the series, Callum won $20,000 for his charity. In a final noble gesture he kindly donated $10,000 of his $25,000 final challenge win to runner-up Chris’ charity, The Lort Smith Animal Hospital.

Chris said: “He is so selfless, and that really sums up the guy. Just fantastic.”

Dream on Courtney – we know from your cooking skills compared to mine and Julie’s from Narara on the Central Coast – so we win! I think it was an unfair final and Chris was betrayed.
