Tonight; the mystery box returns; and it seems to have a bit of a spark in its step!
When they head in; they are reminded of the prizes up for grabs for the winner. Two people will be going home tonight. Before any of that; it’s time for the Mystery Box challenge.
Mystery Box Challenge: Inside, the contestants find chicken, shrimps, chilies…and a hatchet and some matches! Those may be used to break down the actual mystery box… the wood from which will be used to start a fire to cook over!
Conditions: 75 minutes cooking time. Limit of five items only from the pantry.
Progress: Their time begins and so does the chopping! They all seem to do well getting the fire started; but can they keep it burning?
Callum wants to grill some prawns on lime leaves from the pantry; which sounds very interesting. Chris is doing a spatchcock chicken; so it sounds like he’s in his element. Dani is cooking some corn on her fire and George thinks it’s beautiful. Kate is reminded of Matt Moran’s farm challenge.
Soon, the rain starts! They only have thirty minutes to go. Poh isn’t so sure her charred chicken is ‘charred’ the way she wants it to be. Callum is running back and forth as he works on one portion of his dish in the kitchen, and his prawns on the fire.
Poh isn’t sure her meat is cooked; so Chris helps her out making sure it is. Gary, meanwhile, compliments Julie’s pita bread.
Kate has problems keeping her dish’s juices from seeping into the board and Chris impressed George with his plating. Soon, time is up and it’s tasting time! Who’ll be going home?

Comments: They call it delicious and think she could have put in more anchovies and vegetables. They don’t like the use of the board, but likes the cooking of the chicken.

Cooking: Garlic Chicken Skewers
Comments: They let Chris have a bit and they love it.
Poh
Cooking: Grilled Turmeric Chicken
Comments: They like the look of the dish. George loves the moist chicken, but loves the salad.
Justine
Cooking: Tunisian Warm Salad
Comments: They love the dish; and say her prawns have been cooked perfectly with such a great barbecue taste.
Marion
Cooking: Lemongrass Skewers
Comments: Gary thought there’d be more flavours in the lemongrass skewers; but says they are OK.
Callum
Cooking: Grilled Prawns
Comments: They think the prawns are a bit powdery, but love the mayonnaise.
Dani
Cooking: Mexican Chicken Tostadas
Comments: They are in love with her dish; it’s brilliant!
Chris
Cooking: Flame-Grilled Chicken
Comments: They love the char on the chicken, and love the cooking of the chicken. They also compliment the mayonnaise.
Result: The two contestants heading home tonight are…Marion and Poh!
Pretty surprising; but now the blue team are down one member; the playing field is interesting. But try telling that to Callum, who is now on his own. Kate narrowly avoided elimination.
