The Amazing Race Australia Season Two – Grand Finale

Previous Episode: The Amazing Race Australia Season Two – The Final Four Teams Battle It Out!

This is it! Either Shane & Andrew, Michelle & Jo and Paul & Steve will be crowned winner of The Amazing Race Australia 2012.

FINALISTS:

Shane & Andrew – Cops

Michelle & Jo – Cheerleading Twins

Paul & Steve – Workmates

The contestants begin the final leg in Guilin, China. Michelle & Jo will leave first at 5.07am! Paul & Steve leave not long afterwards. Shane & Andrew leave at 8.47am!

Instruction: Travel by taxi to the Lijiang River to find your next clue amongst the traditional fishermen. They will have to ask them in Mandarin for the clue.

The hours of operation are between 8.30-5.00. Only Shane & Andrew are absent at opening time. Michelle & Jo get the clue pretty easily. Paul & Steve don’t have much luck. They can speak Mandarin, but not find the right boat! They do however find the clue before the cops arrive.

When they do arrive, it isn’t long before they’re out of there!

Detour:

TEACH: Teams must tutor children on ten different Aussie words. They will receive their next clue when the students understand them. (CHOSEN BY: Shane & Andrew (Swap to LEARN))

LEARN: Teams must learn ten phrases in Mandarin before reciting them to the teacher. (CHOSEN BY: Michelle & Jo and Paul & Steve)

Paul & Steve have trouble finding the location of the kindergarten. They are led in the completely wrong direction. They finally find out that they are 1.5h away from their destination…by bike! At least they found someone who spoke English! The twins aren’t having much luck either.

The twins finally arrive at the schoolyard. The words they have to learn are the Aussie words the TEACH players have to teach!

Shane & Andrew are also lost; but soon find their way after stopping for a bit. The twins don’t pass the first test, so they try again with the task with another student. The student has a different accent all together. They try a second time and get it right!

Meanwhile, the roommates are still lost. The cops actually make it to the kindergarten first! They’ve gone up a placing. They do well in the challenge, but will their student recite properly? Hmm, there may be a problem.

Shane & Andrew then switch to the LEARN module. As soon as they do, they pass the challenge easily. Next go. Paul & Steve arrive as Shane & Andrew leave. They have several goes before getting it right.

Instruction: Teams must travel to the Baisha Market and spruik kitchen gadgets. They will get their next clue after selling ten items.

The twins are confident for this one. They are actually impressed by the utensils themselves. They manage to finish the challenge easily. The cops also nail this one. The roommates decide to be entertaining in their sales pitch.

Instruction: Fly to Brisbane, Australia and search the carpark for the next clue! YAY; they’re coming home!

Flight 1, ARRIVES in BRISBANE at 8.55AM: All teams (barely).

Instruction: They have to search Captain Burke Park and search for their next clue.

Michelle & Jo, Paul & Steve and Shane & Andrew leave in that order from the carpark. Paul & Steve arrive at the park at the same as the twins. The cops aren’t far behind.

Instruction: Contestants have to go to Boggo Road Gaol and receive their next clue!

The twins get some instructions and Paul & Steve sneak over and steal the info as well. The contestants break some road rules in order to turn around on the Storey Bridge- even the cops!

The cops get to the gaol first and what a turnaround!

Instruction: One team member must answer five questions about other teams on the race. The other team member must correctly guess what their team mate put as an answer.

The cops get a few wrong, but a few right! It’s the same story for the other teams as well. They’re soon together at the same location. Funnily enough, contestants had to wait in cells while their partners match up the faces! Jo and Paul have a fight in the cell! Funnily enough, it is Jo who starts it, not Paul.

After some rearranging, it’s the cops who finish the challenge first! The other two teams are crap, haha. Finally, Paul & Steve finish second! Michelle & Jo finally finish and begin to bicker.

Instruction: Drive to Archerfield Airport and check in to one of three charter flights to Frazer Island. Here, teams must drive to Lake Mackenzie.

Of course, Shane & Andrew get on the first charter. Paul & Steve get on the second and the cheerleaders narrowly get on the third.

Some of the contestants get airsick, but they all make it in one piece.

The twins have troubles with the manual 4WD they have to drive. The cops make it to the lake first.

ROAD BLOCK: One team member must wade out into the lake and answer five questions about the race by using coloured rings. Only when they answer their questions correctly will they move forward in the competition.

The cops and the roommates are neck and neck. Who will overtake the other? It’s the cops! The roommates have to change some of their answers. The twins catch up to them. They are still in this.

After taking notes during the race, the twins OVERTAKE the roommates and enter second place. They’re in for the running.

Instruction: Teams have to make their way to the other side of the beach and dig for a chest containing the prize money. They must then run to the finish line at the other side of the lake! The team to do so will win $250,000 and the title of winners of The Amazing Race Australia 2012!

This looks hard! But of course it is. The coppers grab their chest before the twins arrive and the roommates are still on their last challenge.

By the time the twins begin to dig, Paul & Steve are ready to dig. The fighting between the two teams continues.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the lake…

SHANE & ANDREW BECOME THE WINNERS OF THE AMAZING RACE AUSTRALIA 2012!!!!!!

SECOND PLACE GOES TO… PAUL & STEVE

THIRD PLACE GOES TO… MICHELLE & JO

Don’t like the runners up, but glad those coppers won the show!! Well deserved.

This is the final episode of The Amazing Race Australia Season Two.
