Previous Episode: The X Factor Australia Season Four – The Fifth Auditions
After two weeks of auditions, have The X Factor managed to save the best for last? It’s a VERY high bar to beat!
This is the judges’ final chance to find crowd pleasing acts to move on to boot camp. Here are the noteworthy auditions.
Jayden Sierra (17-year old Boy Band favourite)
Singing: Only Exception by Paramore 
Judges’ Verdict: Guy liked how composed he was and says he didn’t overdo it. Mel thinks that for him to guarantee a place in the competition, she would place him in a boy band. Natalie just points at the screaming girls.
Result: Yes from all four judges. Jayden is through.
Veronica Bravo (Returnee…who’s brushed shoulders with Johnny Ruffo)
Singing: I’ll Be There by Michael Jackson
Judges’ Verdict: Ronan thinks her voice is stunning but she needs some work (as in, he wants to mentor her!). Natalie thinks it was so good and Guy thinks she has a wonderful gift. Mel says she’s blown all of them away.
Result: Four Yesses
Christian & Ahmed: GCG (Rapper group whose third member is in prison)
Singing: Kris Kross by Jump
Judges’ Verdict: Mel wonders ‘what happened’. It was the nerves apparently. Guy says Christian ballsed it up. Ronan thinks Christian isn’t ready, but Ahmed is. They wonder if Ahmed will go through on his own. He won’t without Christian. Christian tells him to. In the ads, it looked like Christian was against it. It seems he wants his friend to go through.
Result: Ahmed agrees to go through. Of course, Christian does not.
Valencia Fesolai (Comes from singing family but studies law)
Singing: Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin
Judges’ Verdict: Natalie says she is supposed to be singing on a stage. Ronan calls her incredible. Mel says she just ‘told them’ and likens the experience to sitting at one of her concerts. Guy loved how she came out so meek but was so confident in her singing.
Result: Four deserving yesses!
D&D (YouTube-famous muscle men with an inspiring story)
Singing: Little Bad Girl by Taio Cruz
Judges’ Verdict: Ronan loved their chemistry and Guy liked it as well, loving the vibe. He couldn’t tell if they were good or terrible singers with the song. Mel thinks one is a stronger performer than the other, but they come as a package. They need to work on their strengths. Natalie thinks their vocals worked as a team.
Result: A yes from Ronan, a no from Mel, a yes from Natalie and a very slow but sure…yes from Guy!
Judah Kelly (15-year old Mackay student)
Singing: I Won’t Let You Go by James Morrison
Judges’ Verdict: Ronan wants to know what happened as he forgot the words. Ronan loved how he kept singing unscathed by the experience. The audience had no idea! Natalie tells James Morrison to eat his heart out. Guy calls Judah incredible. Mel thinks they witnessed something magical.
Result: His life is about to change- four yesses!
