Last night (Thursday October 11), Wikileaks founder Julian Assange appeared on NITV news in a short interview discussing his recent granting of an Aboriginal passport thanks to his support for indigenous people of Australia and the world.
While the interview was rather brief – about 60 seconds – it did conclude with news that NITV would be soon be airing a documentary about Julian Assange.
NITV so far have eluded our main stream networks by scoring an interview with Assange.
For those not aware, NITV is our national indigenous channel, focusing on programming for the indigenous community. It currently airs through Foxtel on channel 180, as well as Austar (now owned by Foxtel).
NITV is rumoured to soon be part of free to air TV as SBS’s third digital channel. NITV should be part of SBS’s suite of channels as soon as December 2012. Read more here.
