According to newly appointed Ten programmer Beverley McGarvey, Neighbours will remain on ELEVEN as it spear heads the night for the channel and frequently ranks as most watched digital TV channel show for the nights that it airs.
Despite having ratings currently averaging around 270,000, Neighbours will continue to be produced and will continue to air on ELEVEN at 6.30pm weeknights.
There are no plans now or in the foreseeable future to move Neighbours back to ELEVEN. ELEVEN has gorwn to be the home of Neighbours and will continue to do so. The show helps the channel in ratings and does extremely well in demos, according to McGarvey.
2013 will see the Simpsons return to 6pm weeknights on Ten, and The Project air from 6.30-7.30pm weeknights.
While many would question the viability of an Australian production that rates below 300,000 (5 city metro), Neighbours is sold to a number of overseas broadcasters, bringing in significant money for Network Ten.
Neighbours airs on ELEVEN, 6.30pm weeknights.
