Heroes of Beijing
What can we say that hasn't already been said? All the superlatives, all the adjectives have been done to death over the last two weeks. Millions of words have been written, all the experts have had their say. But as usual, the people who really know what's going on, the ones you really want to hear, have said the least. Well, now it's their turn. On Sunday night, our Olympic champions get together and have their say, reliving some of the great heart-stopping moments from the Games. So let the celebrations begin.
The Hunt for ET
Perhaps we're not alone, maybe there is somebody out there. I know it sounds a bit weird, but you'll have to forgive us. Peter Overton has just been on an amazing expedition hunting aliens with a group of people who are convinced extra-terrestrial life really does exist. No, they're not crackpots, far from it. They're some of NASA's most distinguished scientists. They've already found water on Mars and soil that could grow healthy vegetables. So, the next logical step surely has to be life, maybe intelligent life in outer space. And these brilliant minds are closer, much closer, to finding ET than you might think.
Wonder Dogs
Just imagine you're having a check-up and the doctor says he wants a second opinion. So he calls in the family pooch. Actually, it's not as far-fetched as it sounds. It all began 20 years ago when a young woman named Gil Lacey noticed her dog wouldn't stop sniffing a mole on her leg. Finally she saw her doctor about it. The mole turned out to be cancerous and, to this day, Gil's convinced the dog saved her life. Since then, there have been dozens of similar stories. But the medical establishment has consistently scoffed at the very idea dogs might be able to help diagnose cancer. Maybe this will help change their minds.
