Secrets of the Cellar

You have to shake your head in disbelief - how on earth can these things happen? And in this particular case, how could he possibly get away with it for so long. It's just unthinkable - a father, who kept his daughter locked away in a secret chamber for 24 years. The poor girl was just 18 when the horror began, and over the years she had seven children. One died, three were kept prisoner down in the cellar. And, unbelievably, the others were adopted by the father and lived openly upstairs as his "grandchildren". No wonder the family's story stunned the world. And we must add a warning - what follows contains strong adult themes.

Bonanza!

Here's a hot tip - how to cash in on the next big boom. Forget mining in Western Australia, think water in the Northern Territory. Yes, water. For years, Territorians have been telling us their water's worth a fortune and we've ignored them. How right they were. Ten years ago, you could have picked up a cattle station in the Top End for peanuts, say $5 million. Now, it's worth around $70 million. And it's not just water. International investors want land too, as much of it as they can get. Which leaves the long-suffering cattlemen with a huge dilemma - whether to cash in, or stick with the life they love.

The Face behind Facebook

Are you on Facebook yet? More than 60 million people already are and by the end of the year, it'll be 200 million. That's how fast it's spreading. Here's how it works. All you have to do is set up a profile page about yourself. From there you can swap news and photos with friends, track down old acquaintances, even play long distance Scrabble. It can be a very useful tool, or an addictive time-waster. Either way, Facebook has created an internet revolution. And as Lesley Stahl reports, it's now a $15 billion business, the creation of one very young, very geeky computer whiz-kid.
