The hospital has a damages suit launched against it and Director of Medicine, Oliver Maroney is on the warpath; he wants to know who told the aggrieved party that the patient died due to hospital negligence. Was it Frank?

An infection outbreak in ICU mean that the ED takes charge of amputee patient, Ben Quilty. Sympathies from staff are questioned when they learn that Ben orchestrated the accident that led to the amputation of his healthy leg.

Dan has begun his interferon therapy and is exhibiting symptoms which include fever, vagueness and irritability.

Meanwhile Erica is still no closer to finding out why Dan has ended their relationship and finds it hard to raise her usual level of compassion when dealing with a difficult patient.

Gabrielle finally gets the maintenance man to come in and fix faulty repairs. He wastes no time in moving in on Erica.

Mike’s son’s condition is getting worse. In end stage renal failure, Simon will need a kidney transplant.
