Another night, another elimination.
Can Marty Simpson survive another week?
2006 Australian Idol contestant Chris Murphy is performing his new single
What's Next to the Moon. Yet another cover. Dull.. why couldn't it have been an original? At least he's got a new baby to make up for it.
We catch up with Amali Ward who is busy writing for her new EP and gigging around Sydney, doing some modelling and TV presenting. She's heading to New York at the end of the year to see how her career goes over there.
Friday night is going to be a bit of a blast as a who's who of the Australian Music industry (
Kate Ceberano,
Diesel,
Dallas Crane,
Rick-Lee,
Dean Geyer and
Paulini), along with
Burt Bacharach for a special show at 9:30pm on Ten.
So Jessica Mauboy is now one of the
Young Divas and we have a brief catch up with what she's been doing since Idol now that she's part of the group.
Anyone else sick of "My Mum Rocks"?
The top 7 then perform a medley of songs from when James and Andrew G were born -
I Shot The Sherrif and
Psycho Killer.
Finally, it's time for the verdict. In the bottom three are:
Marty Simpson, Matt Corby and Ben McKenzie
How wrong does this picture look?! If Marty Simpson is sent back to the couch it will just be wrong. And of course, it's Marty Simpson being sent back.
This is pretty shocking. Both Matt Corby and Ben McKenzie in the final two?! They're the last two people you'd expect to see in the bottom two and who ever goes is going to really reduce the talent left. How many people would have picked them to be going head to head at the Opera House in November?
Leaving the show this week is Ben McKenzie. Thankfully Matt is still there but it's a real disappointment that Ben is going home.
Next week the Idols will be singing two songs. One of their own choosing and one chosen by our judges. Should be interesting.
