Ex-Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines has spoken out regarding the axing of the talent show and the dismissal of Kyle Sandilands.
Hines has revealed she was never consulted on the show’s axing and she has called the sacking of Sandilands “one of the most unfair things” she’s seen.
"He's my buddy. I like Kyle. Kyle says what he wants to say. Most people are the same way but they're not on TV. I was so bummed out that he was taken off the show." She said.
Hines has also voiced her opinion of replacement judge Jay Dee Springbett, saying she believes he was a bad choice.
"Jay Dee and Dicko were too similar. There was no humour. That's where Kyle came in."
Hines also mentioned how she tried to stay well clear of any drama that was going on behind the scenes on the show.
"I keep hearing about political s*** that went on at Idol. But I was taught very early in my career - do the gig, then go home."
