Semi Final Four - S06E11

It's the last of the Semi Finals tonight but before the final six perform, two from last night will join Chrislyn Hamilton, Wes Carr, Tom Williams and Thanh Bui in the Top 12.

The two contestants from last night to go through to the Top 12 is Mark Spano and Teale Jakubenko.

Here is the night's recap:

Irae Schwenke
Voting Numbers
Jesse McCartney - Beautiful Soul - Beautiful Soul Beautiful Soul

A reasonable song choice but I think those nerves are still plaguing Irae. The pitch problems and cheesy moves just didn't do it for me.

Kayla Vanzetta
Voting Numbers
Leonardo's Bride - Angel Blood - Even When I'm Sleeping Even When I'm Sleeping

That was a fairly poxy performance. Kayla has a nice enough voice and is pretty enough to be a pop star but there was just no guts to that. She may as well have been standing in her bedroom holding a hairbrush and singing to her mirror.

James Spargo
Voting Numbers
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open - Chasing Cars Chasing Cars

This was a dangerous song choice for James. It's well known and very memorable thanks to Grey's Anatomy but that was again, too weak. Kyle was right that he over sang it. He nearly redeemed himself with the change up in the middle but I doubt he's getting a ticket to the Top 12 based on that.

Brooke Addamo
Voting Numbers
Jewel - Pieces of You - Foolish Games Foolish Games

I quite like Brooke. She has a subtle beauty and professionalism about her that is endearing. There is something captivating about her when she sings.

Jonny Taylor
Voting Numbers
30 #1 Hits - Hound Dog Hound Dog

If you ever needed to hear a different version of this Elvis Presley classic then that was it. I'm actually left unsure about what I'm supposed to think about that. I don't think the risk is going to pay off for him though.

Madam Parker
Voting Numbers
Alicia Keys - No One - Single - No One No One

Amazing voice. Just a real shame she's destroying it with that filthy habit. You can hear the smokey rasp in her voice which has to be affecting her longevity. It's so obvious that she's a New Zealander. No confidence and totally unsure of who she is in the world.

A bit of a mixed bag tonight and a very different show compared to last night.

It's a tough call but Brooke Addamo should be one of the two going through to the Top 12. Madam Parker may be the other but who knows.

Don't forget to vote. The results will be at the start of the wildcard show, live at 7:30pm on Ten. Monday night, the final six places of the Top 12 will be announced and Axel Whitehead will be on the show.
