Twenty five year old Thanh Bui was born in Adelaide but has lived in Melbourne since the age of seven. In 1982, Thanh’s parents escaped Vietnam as boat people to seek refuge in Australia. As it is traditionally expected, Thanh still lives at home with his parents, his brother and his wife. Thanh’s love for music started when he was twelve years old when he joined the Victoria Children’s Choir.
He then learnt how to play piano, and later at the age of twenty was asked to join the boy-band North which toured around Malaysia, breaking up in 2007. Now Thahn is busy teaching kids of all ages how to sing, gigging around Melbourne and writing music for local Melbourne artists as well as himself. He is a huge fan of the Geelong Cats and one day he would love to sing the Australian national anthem at the MCG.

Congratulations Thanh you have truly done an amazing job in representing Australia in idol.
You have been a pleasure to watch. Really disappointed that your time is up. You were an amazing contestant and you definetly stayed true to yourself.
