Tonight, the last 4 pieces of the puzzle will be completed as the class of 2008 is finalised.
The judges will pick three of the wildcards tonight while the #1 choice by the public will also make it through as the final member of the Top 12.
The voting lines have closed and Dicko is announces that Roshani Priddis has made the Top 12. She sings
If I Ain't Got You again and she is much better than last night. It must be that she has no pressure on her to perform and comes across much more relaxed.
Marcia announces that Luke Dickens has the next spot in the Top 12. He sings
Angels again and he sounds just as strained as he did last night. I really don't understand this decision at all. It's agonising listening to Luke sing as you're on the edge of your seat expecting his voice to crack.
Axle Whitehead is back on the Australian Idol stage to perform
I Don't Do Surprises off his debut album Losing Sleep.
Kyle is the last judge to make a call about who is going through to the Top 12. Amazingly, he doesn't pick a hot chick. Jonny Taylor is his weak choice. He's about as punchy with his interviews as he is as he is with his songs as he sings
Let Her Cry.
Well, overall I'm pretty disappointed with the judges choices. I can only hope that Nicole Banks is the public's choice.
The public vote is Sophie Paterson. She is shocked. So am I. Australia obviously likes boring musicians in 2008. Andrew G tells her that Australia must have seen something amazing in her. If they did, she sure did her best to conceal it last night. She sings
I'm Yours through her nose again and once again gives Australia an average performance.
So that's it Australia. The Top 12 finalists for Australian Idol 2008 are Chrislyn Hamilton, Wes Carr, Tom Williams, Thanh Bui, Mark Spano, Teale Jakubenko, Brooke Addamo, Madam Parker, Roshani Priddis, Luke Dickens, Jonny Taylor and Sophie Paterson.
