I will be studying next year through open access collage, which is at home, so i am a pretty free soul.

If you don’t get in, don’t give up there are thousands of modelling agency’s out there, Try one of them, go for a interview and try and promote your self as much as possible, Melbourne cup and big events like that are really great to go to just to be seen and heard about a lot of big well known modelling agency’s are there as well

to the people who are short and are asking if they can get in, theres no point. even if you GET in, theres no way those agencies in NY etc will accept you.

For this competition - Height restriction is at least 170 cm (and thats pushing it).
If you are under that i wouldnt suggest you set yourself up for that disappointment.
They wont sugar coat what their opinion is of you and its nothing to do with weight as such but proportions. I shit you not, they will grill you for entertainments sake.
Also the shorter you are the thinner they will expect you to be to give off the illusion you are tall. So if your body just isnt built that way and you dont have the height, try other outlets. There are a billlllllion equally fantastic opportunities to get into modelling. This isnt the only way. This show isnt just about giving girls such opportinities its also for entertainment and a lot of shameless self promotion. Most of the girls will be used up and forgotten. The show looks very glamorous and enticing but it is far from that.
So take into consideration the facts, the expectations and also the huge self confidence and mental/emotional strength you have to have to cope with the rejection and everything else involved in the industry. It is HARD WORK!!! It isnt just like you posing in your little pictures for myspace..its not that easy.
There is a lot more rejection than success in this field...especially high fashion. They will build you up and knock you down just as fast. If you really want this, none of this will bother you...but its definitely not easy and does actually require a brain to get to the top.
Look how many stunning supermodels there are out there...what makes the top models so special? they arent stupid thats for sure! They know how to do their job well and create never ending opportunities for their future out of it. A models life expectancy is not much more than 28 (if you're damn good) so that is hardly a career. They are aware they cant do that forever and as it has already been said, most model as a means to an end to get through study.
When you stop living with mummy and daddy you will understand this and perhaps wont be so judgemental or such a hypocrite!

Why dont people bother doing their research before crapping on about models being stupid clotheshorses. It just proves your own lack of intelligence and maturity.

Yeh go for it!! believe is youself, just wear 20inch heels and dont eat for 2 months. youll b sweet.

hey darl just letting you know to cut if for a top model 155 is way to short top models are between 170-185 alot of the time.

I just visited this site for general information about auditions but a few things made me laugh my head off
I'de just like to say respect to the 20 year old girl who stood up for herself. To the 13 year old I agree that 55 kg is by no means overweight,however its about girls personal perceptions of their own bodies, not your opinion. Good for you that your confident and comfortable in your own skin, however most of us had that same attitude when we were that young. Also, models are not all stupid, infact many are lucky enough to be intelligent as well as beautiful and model as a means of making money and getting through uni. Im only 16 but i have learnt in my life the importance of discretion, and keeping certain thoughts to yourself. Maybe you should have learnt that in the education your so passionate about..

You need to be 16 as from the 8th January which i assume is when filming will begin...

height wise- you have to be 170cm and this is without heels!! You also can't make yourself taller by hats of having big hair..they have seen it all and won't fall for it!

you cannot ask people if your the right weight by giving them a number!! everyones bodies are built differently, some people may have more muscle than other so don't be silly
they are looking for all different sizes..this is australia for gods sake- the fattest nation in the world. Let's get some girls with a bit of booty and curves in for once!

hey i was just wondering i am 15 and u say i have to be 16 by january the 1st but im 16 in april and i dont go to school so does that still matter like can i still try out. thanks April

listen girls, u all say that u r too fat coz ur like 55 kgs or wateva if u r this size and around 170cm ur too thin u need to eat or reduce ur exercise. im like 169cm and im only 56 kgs. ifeel bad when i look in the mirror coz i can see bones.... just remember hat models should not be stick thin and people do not need to hurt or starve themselves in the meantime to gain a career u should just love your body as it is and yourself because in the long run u will regret it... im not condoning obesity here but i dont like the look of myself i get called anorexic coz im naturally thin and i hate it let me tell u sumthin i eat like a horse... really its just my fast metabolism....i really wish i could put on weight but thats just my body type and well i have learnt to accept it... so dont waste ur life trying to be somebody that ur not and just be urself.... people will accept genuinely for this and u will also notice a change in ur wellbeing..

im 18, 53kg and 5'6 or 169cm tall. is that too short? im only a few cm's off, do u think the judges can see past the height thing and see true potiental or do they just look for the hieght to begin with? let me know ur opinion and especially those who have auditioned in previous years, would love some adivse. xx
