Is Demelza a hypocrit?

14 May regan's blog | Email this page | 1633 reads

When you read Demelza's profile you'll note that her life motto is "Don't be a bitch".

After her behavior the last few weeks on ANTM, don't you think she's being a little bit hypocritical?

I guess it was a little bit of sweet justice seeing the judges make her cry last night though...

I thought the show is to look for Australia next top model, but someone pls tell me why has Caris been voted out when she produces such amazing pixs....even the photograph is impressed by her. Yet, Demelza AGAIN got in and not even in the bottom two. It's ridiculous. The judges at the end of the day, just wanted someone with good looks, so it doesn't matter if she is a bimbo and a bully. Caris should be in the top three, not Demelza. It's not justified.

my family an i think silly 16yr olds should not be in this competition. It should be for over 18, Delmelza seems to be a spoilt little bitch gets whatever she wants. It seems the judges are giving into her all the time. (Charlotte was not impressed with her now changes her mind) This show is rigged, as they wont get rid of her as the need silly little school girls to watch one of there on

Demelza is clearly a 'hot' bitch who thinks that she can get by using her pretty face, but what about her fat ass? Disproportional to say the least.

Firstly - it's not only spelt 'hypocrite', it's spelt 'psychologist', "Charlotte Dawson".

It is a great shame that this live-in psychologist wasn't making their presence felt earlier when the bullying started, that's all I have to say on this matter. A lot could have been curtailed by a little more prevention, no matter who is a 'ringleader' or 'follower' or whatever. One way or another - heads should be rolling and it's only the show's fault if they hadn't stepped in sooner.

As for colour bars replacing the show? Well, maybe we should be viewing the USA's ANTM? In that show Tyra takes a more active role in talking to the girls and curtailing such behaviour VERY early on.

While it is fantastic that this issue has been causing so much debate and emotion I think you need to understand a few Telly truths. Firstly, if we got rid of Rebecca, Alyce and Demelza in one week, what my dear friends do you think the nice folk at Fox 8 would run for the three weeks scheduled for the rest of the series? Colour bars maybe? The girls are never alone - um who do you think records the sound and shoots the pictures and produces the segments? They also have a full time chaperone living in the house at all times and we have a phycologist incase the girls encounter any troubles. I can't stress how responsible the production crew is, you are responsible for the health and safety of not only the models but the entire production crew. If we could show everything that went on in that house it would pretty much run on 10 hour episodes, Fox 8 can't really afford to give each episode that much airtime and it would kind of work against the format don't you think? The cameras are on these girls pretty much every day for 12 - 15 hours a day, they are surrounded by crew constantly. The eliminations take 10 hours to shoot 4 minutes of what makes it onto TV, so just keep all of this is perspective when critiqing how the series is produced. We try to keep it relevant and very real and it is a show about finding MODELS not necessarily model citizens! The basis of Reality Television (and all contestants have been brought up on a diet of it - so they know what they are in for) is jepoardy and conflict - it's what keeps you glued and entertained. I am really pleased we have provided this and dealt with a few serious issues - but let's just get on with finding Australias Next Top Model shall we? Although some of you are clearly a tad 'emotional' posting personal and spiteful and often hateful comments about a 16 year old girl who made a public mistake helps nobody.

It is unfair that Jodhi favours Demelza over all the other competitors even given her track record. She picked her out from the start as her favourite because of her childish (contrived) voice. She is a cow, who I think unfortunately will win the competition. She does not deserve it and would be a horrible ambassador for Australia's Next Top Model.

And as for Jonathon, he is really annoying me how he keeps saying "at the end of the day, that is what a top model is about". He says that every week for a different girl.

omg please get rid of Alyce. Shes awful. Such a nasty girl and nothing special to look at. She has a harsh look (which i guess is her personality shining through). If i saw her walking down the street i wouldnt give her a second thought or look.

Also...anyone remem her saying i was going to buy pearls the other day?! What with? Shes unemployed!

In response to Tania's comment regarding how the other girls failed to stand up against Demelza and her gang, apparently they did - Belinda, at least, has been publicly pissed off about how the producers edited out hours of her efforts to support Alamela - see:
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23699707-5006014,00.html
..good on her!

The fact is that the judges failed to act appropriately at the time, and they're now pathetically attempting to make up for it by effectively bullying Demelza! This has verged on unwatchable television as a result - you've really got to wonder what they think they're doing.

And 'hypocrite' is spelled - well, that way, incidentally - with an 'E'. Smiling

I can't believe some of the comments made on this site. You are all as bad as the girls classified as the "bitches" in the house. Get real Demelza has been used as a scapegoat and even Alamela said that she was not the ringleader, all the girls were as bad as each other. Some of your comments are appalling and to for you to be able to even think of the things you have written you are not decent human beings yourself!

maybe she did not get to finish her sentence re her life motto. It should be

" Dont be a bitch... I hate competition ". U think?

although that situation was just dreadful it does give me some pleasure knowing that australia is smart enough to hate a dog like demelza.
worst contestant ever!!
i surely hope that is the end of her pathetic modeling career

The behaviour of Demelza was appalling. She might have a pretty face but she shouldn't have shown her ugly inside on national (and international) TV, since the show is also broadcast abroad. It's a bad look. It's a pity the judges just didn't do a clean sweep last night and rid the show of Rebecca, Alyce and Demelza.

It was also worrying that some of the other girls didn't say something to defend poor Amaleda (sorry for misspelling name). Still, suppose their survival instincts warned them stand up for Amaleda and risk being bullied yourself and have the pack turn on you.

It's interesting to note that some of the girls subjected to bullying in Australia's Top Model have been the most successful ie Gemma won series 1 and has had a successful career since. Alice Burdeu, last season's winner, is enjoying excellent international success and is probably not looking back. Alice was an intelligent, sensitive, sensible diplomatic person and misunderstood by certain other girls who need to realise the importance of celebrating uniqueness, individuality and diversity.
