FOXTEL’s Bio. Channel will exclusively broadcast the heartbreaking documentary FARRAH’S STORY, a must-watch two hour special that chronicles Farrah Fawcett’s battle with cancer. This is the Charlie Angels stars story in her own words as she explains her battle and her journey with cancer.

This powerful documentary will make its Australian Television Premiere on Bio on Friday June 25th at 8.30pm – exactly a year to the day Farrah sadly lost her battle with the disease.

Shot with her own home video recorder, FARRAH’S STORY takes viewers on the highly emotional rollercoaster of the world-famous beautys two and half year battle with cancer.

Intensely intimate and often confronting, the footage becomes Farrah’s video diary in which she not only shares her thoughts and feelings but also her various medical treatments in the U.S. and Germany.

Long-time devoted companion Ryan O’Neal is by Farrah’s side during her long and painful battle, as is best friend Alana Stewart, who acts as camera operator and co-producer.

Her original Charlies Angels co-stars Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson also appear, along with Farrah’s father Jim Fawcett in what is a sometimes uplifting, sometimes painful and thoroughly transparent documentary.

Farrah speaks openly about her determination to try and beat the disease and her desire to keep living.  Over months of treatments, anguish and hope she learnt the most important asset to have is an indomitable spirit and that is the message she planned to deliver to the world when she invited a camera into her life.

Towards the end of Farrah’s journey, in a touching scene, Farrah’s beloved son Redmond is seen sharing a few precious moments with his bedridden mum, having been released for 3 hours from jail to visit her.

FOX SPORTS has expanded its portfolio of world-class motorsport by securing rights to the Australian Superbike Championships, effective immediately.

The Australian Superbike Championships (ASBK) is Australia’s premier motorcycling championship, contested over seven rounds across four states and territories. The series brings together Australia’s best riders and leading world class manufacturers.

FOX SPORTS has assumed the rights for the remainder 2010 series, after One HD provided coverage of the opening round from Phillip Island in February.

A 90-mintue highlights package from the second round of the series, from Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway, will be screened on Thursday 10 June.

FOX SPORTS will provide prime time highlights packages from each remaining round of the ASBK series this season.

Soames Treffry, Director FOX SPORTS Channels, said the Australian Superbike Championships is a welcome addition to FOX SPORTS.

“The Australian Superbike Championships has a good following and is a strong addition to our motorsport family, which includes live and exclusive coverage of the Superbike World Championship,” said Treffry.

“Fans love both series and so having both on FOX SPORTS will be advantageous for Superbike followers.”

Yarrive Konsky, of International Entertainment Group, said the deal with FOX SPORTS will expose ASBK to a greater audience.

“The success that FOX SPORTS has had with the Superbike World Championship has seen the likes of Troy Bayliss and Troy Corser become household names in Australia,” he said.

“This is a big step forward for not only the Australian Superbike Championships, its riders and teams, but also the many fans of the sport around the country that will now have greater access to the all the thrilling action the sport provides.”

FOX SPORTS coverage of the Australian Superbike Championships is available to FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers.

Less than two weeks after setting the benchmark with a 3D trial screening of the Socceroos’ farewell game against New Zealand, FOX SPORTS will again be at the forefront of Australian television innovation by screening the nation’s first ever tennis broadcast in 3D, direct from Roland Garros in Paris.

FOXTEL iQ2 and AUSTAR MyStar HD subscribers with a 3D ready television will be able to watch the match in stunning 3D, with the coverage utilising the same Sony 3D production technology that was used to broadcast the Socceroos match last month, and will be used at the FIFA World Cup.

The historic match will be available on the FOX SPORTS 3D channel (Channel 200) LIVE on Saturday, June 5, from 11.00pm AEST. The coverage will also screen on FOX SPORTS 2HD and FOX SPORTS 2.

Stosur will face Italy’s Francesca Schiavone in the final, aiming to break a 30-year drought and become the first Australian woman to claim a singles Grand Slam title since Evonne Goolagong Cawley won Wimbledon in 1980.

FOX SPORTS chief executive, David Malone, said: “Not only is this an exciting time for Australian women’s tennis, it’s an exciting time for FOX SPORTS. We are proud to deliver yet another Australian first to viewers around the country as we follow Sam Stosur’s attempt to make tennis history

“As Australia’s leading sports broadcaster, this live French Open 3D event maintains FOX SPORTS position at the forefront of 3D broadcasting. Following the success of our 3D coverage of the Socceroos’ farewell match last month, it’s great to be able to apply the technology to yet another major Australian sport and capitalise on our 3D market leadership.”

Soames Treffry, Director, FOX SPORTS Channels, added: “From big aces, to volleys to clean winners, there’s no doubt that a sport like tennis will literally jump to life for viewers in 3D.

“We had a tremendous response to our world first with the 3D Socceroos trial and the stage is set for another big night of history-making television.”

3D is sweeping the world’s interest, with FOX SPORTS among a number of international broadcasters who will screen the match in 3D.
