Our 3 top votes for this week are:

Adil and Mamuna

Justice crew

Adam Murby

Justice Crew have secured the 3rd spot in the final and will be joining our other grand finalists.

Brian congratulates Justice Crew, and Adam & Selina Murby get his vote to the final.

Onto Danni who’s heart is in her throat. And despite acknowledging the talent in Adil and Mamuna, she votes our magic act through. Two votes are all it takes, but Kyle thinks Adam and Selina have what it takes. Adil and Mamuna will no doubt get their lucky break with the exposure they’ve had on the show.

Now onto tonights performances trying to win your hearts for next weeks grand finalist announcements.

Brianna is up first tonight and she’s one of my personal favourites… singing “Don’t rain on my parade” by Barbara Streisand Barbra Streisand - Funny Girl - Don't Rain On My Parade better than I’ve ever heard, and she’s only 13 years old!! Danni “I absolutely loved it because there’s so much conviction”. “You did it again tonight, you’re just a perfect all round performer” says Brian. And onto Kyle… the hater of musical theatre. “Well I am going to rain on your parade. I think that you are too good to be just here in Australia. I think that is world class standard”. Brianna has a future on stage, there’s no doubt about it.

Like a couple of lovesick teenagers, “the grooviest grandparents ever”, The Swingchesters shined on stage last time. But this time Kyle isn’t impressed…. not enough happening on stage for our first judge. Danni loved it but felt it was a bit flat this time, and Brian applauds The Swingchesters for getting out there and giving it a go. But despite their possible farewell from the big stage, they show us, as our host pointed out “Love never fades, and life only gets better”

Parental Guidance Recommended entertain us again…. as if playing violin isn’t hard enough, these guys play music and bring us a full circus performance at the same time. Kyle points out that this is why he doesn’t have children… “because it’s messy and annoying”… but he actually shocks us and says he thinks they’re talented. We’ll see what the public voting says.

Kim Pickering Jones is our own Susan Boyle. Singing “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera Andrew Lloyd Webber - The Phantom of the Opera (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - Think of Me . Even Kyle thinks she nailed it. With a makeover and a performance that had us wondering halfway through whether it was going to out-do last week, but her last half of her peformance really blew the judges away.

What can you say about our next act martial arts “expert” Andrew Sith? Everyone is in hysterics, especially the judges. Brian can’t believe he even voted it through the first time, and his defence to why he was jumping around at the end … “It was the most boring thing I’d ever seen and then the fireworks go off, I was asleep”. I have a feeling there will be an extra spot to take up in the grand final, because this act won’t be taking it.

The Blackbirds with their soulful sounds give us another great performance, but is it exciting enough to go through to the grand final? Kyle loves it “Danni’s right, it was beautiful, that to me is like a car cd” and he thinks we’ll see an album from The Blackbirds in the next 12 months.

Our first stand up comedian to make it to the semifinals with his rendition of Enrique Eglesias “hero” Enrique Iglesias - Insomniac - Hero , serenading the audience and then Kyle. “Very very funny and maybe a little bit creepy as well”. Kyle thinks Matt did an excellent job, whether he’s telling jokes or singing. Brian likes him as a comedian, but really wanted more jokes. Danni is really impressed and it’s clear that if you can pull that off, you can do this professionally. He changed it up and made us remember him, and that might be just what Matt needed to make it through.

Amy Elizabeth shines on stage with the wind in her hair. Brian is pleasantly surprised at her “incredible” performance and thinks a lot more people will start liking opera after Amy’s performance. Danni points out that Amy found what set her apart and that’s “exactly what you need on this show”. It’s up to the audience now, but I think a lot of people were pleasantly surprised tonight.

Well we’ve had a range of talent tonight and it’s up to you to vote for your favourites.

(Check back here soon for voting numbers)

In our show tonight we see Bobby Andanov get the nod to stick around, and he’s blazing through to the next round, then the battle between Rolling Entertainment and K-Star… it came down to Kyle making the final vote and Rolling Entertainment beat out the talented K-Star Evolutionz.

Moving onto the rest of tonight’s acts…

Adam Murby our resident illusionist on this years show, is back to the stage and sticking blades through his little sister with the greatest of ease.  The judges are in awe and even being that close they still can’t figure it out. And Danni voices what we all know… the best looking magic duo in the world.  Both Kyle and Brian agree that Adam’s act could go worldwide.

Zenith – their name means “we’re going to hit the highest point of creativity.”.  In round one of the dance off, Zenith take to the stage with another energy packed performance.  None of the judges were as impressed as they were the first time, too chopped up, no signature move/explosion, and not quite the same flow.  Still a great performance, but will it be enough?

The Twine, Brian’s favourite family band, bring us more energy, more music, and a great performance to keep us hooked.

Cleopatra up next with a belly giggling comedy performance.  Who can forget these ladies?  Definitely a memorable performance during their audition but todays performance really didn’t hold my attention at all.  Even the boys buzzed them out.

Our cowboy, Grant Richardson didn’t bring the wow factor tonight… a nice song and nice singing, but not the best in Australia.  Sorry Grant, you’re not going to be Australia’s most talented act.

Elvi Pez gets a 2nd chance at fame thanks to Brian and Kyle.  Our “human computer” is back this time complete with dancers and it’s definitely more entertaining than the first time.  But is this what we think showcases our Australian talent?  I really hope you’re all shaking your heads in response to that question.  “It’s niche, let’s say that much” says Danni. But definitely not a vote from Danni.  In fact, there were 3 x’s before Elvie finished his performance.  Brian puts it perfectly “I think your computer has a virus”.

Adil and Mamuna had us all mesmerised in the first audition, after deciding to audition at the last minute on the train.  Our brother and sister duo are performing Coldplay’s “in my place”.  Changing up the song and making it their own seems to have worked for this act.  A standing applause from Danni and Brian.  “That is how you cover a song” explains Danni.

And for our last act of the night, Justice will take on Zenith head on and show us what they’re made of.  These guys have huge hearts and even bigger moves…  and tonight was no exception.  Bringing all the right moves, a lot of variety, and making us excited about what’s to come.  I have no idea how that one dancer Lucas managed to hold himself up on his arms backwards like that… unbelievable, you had to see it to believe it, even Kyle was trying to figure out if they were human.  Brian “we’ve got 3 dance crews in the semi finals, and you guys just blew them out of the water … you had a big moment in every scene … that was perfect!”.

Another great night of talent and it’s not over yet!

Australia’s Got Talent – 1st semi-final show… here’s how it played out tonight

K-Star Evolutionz come back with a powerful performance this week and it’s hard to tell that this team of kids practise in a garage and on a driveway. Amazing, I can’t wait to see more!  The moves, attitude, and talent are something to keep an eye out for in future.

To vote for K-Star Evolutionz call 1902 55 333 1 or SMS K STAR to 1997 7772

Watermelon Man – by day he’s a mild mannered english teacher… but on stage he’s a sensation of a very unique kind. Danni tells him “um kind of reminded me of Avatar with no script or special fx”.  Grant sums it up for me “I feel like I’m on seal island and it’s mating time”. Please please Australia, is this really what we call talent?

To vote for The Watermelon Man call 1902 55 333 2 or SMS WATERMELON to 1997 7772

The Belles come back to the stage singing Lady Gaga “Bad Romance” Lady GaGa - Bad Romance - Single - Bad Romance, and Brian looks mesmerised… but apparently he’s not impressed at all “I liked you but I didn’t like that”. Kyle is asked why he pushed the buzzer, and he plain and simply replies “because I didn’t like it”. Apparently they didn’t wow him like last week. “I liked the claw but that’s it”. I’m not sure that the judges want them to move on, but the ladies had a great time regardless. It’ll be up to the public to decide.

To vote for The Belles call 1902 55 333 3 or SMS BELLES to 1997 7772

Our next ad is our 7 year old “wonder kid” Shuan Hern Lee, who’s dream is to be a great concert pianist, brings us more Rachmaninov this week. “Shuan that was just amazing”exclaims Danni, and tells our pianist he’ll definitely get his dream. The other judges agree he’s amazing, but we’ll see what the public say when the votes come through.

To vote for Shuan Hern Lee call 1902 55 333 4 or SMS SHUAN to 1997 7772

Antonio Zonta, 67 years young, still having kids, and wowing the judges with his first audition. Singing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “love changes everything” Andrew Lloyd Webber - Andrew Lloyd Webber - Love Songs - Love Changes Everything (From "Aspects of Love") . Antonio is better dressed this week, and a different tone of song… but a little bit too much expression for Brian’s liking.

To vote for Antonio Zonta call 1902 55 333 5 or SMS ANTONIO to 1997 7772

Ferah and her belly dancing talent are back to seduce the judges and the audience once again. Brian thinks Ferah takes belly dance to a whole new level and is well impressed. Danni just absolutely loved it, and Kyle…. well we all know he loved it. Well done Ferah, you took something traditional and modernised it, and really appealed to the audience.  Is it enough?

To vote for Ferah call 1902 55 333 6 or SMS FERAH to 1997 7772

Welcome back after the break with Jak In The Box. With probably my favourite rendition of Waltzing Matilda The Bushwackers Band - The Great Bushwackers Band, Vol. 1 - Waltzing Matilda ever, and some sounds that can only leave us gobsmacked at their talent, here’s hoping Jak In The Box are back for more. Brian is questioning the costumes, and the boys question his knowledge of Australian outback animals, throwing it back in Brian’s face. Danni is impressed “I thought that was fantastic”, and was cracking up laughing during their act.

To vote for Jak In The Box call 1902 55 333 7 or SMS JAK to 1997 7772

Bobby Andanov is in front of Australia again to see if he can do better than the amazing performance last time we saw him. Singing Kanye West’s “heartless” Kanye West - Heartless - Single - Heartless , changing his styleand showing us his adaptability… but is it enough? I’m sure every teenage girl in Australia thinks so. And personally I’m amazed at that voice on a 15 year old. Brian sums it up with his comments “I hate you, you’re going to ruin people like me … you come along and make a show of every male singer in this country, you’re a superstar!” Danni agrees with every word, and Kyle tells Bobby with no hesitation at all that he’s going to make millions of dollars with his singing. Amazing talent. Is he Australia’s biggest superstar?

To vote for Bobby Andonov call 1902 55 333 8 or SMS BOBBY to 1997 7772

Rolling Entertainment are bringing back roller skating. And I have to say I LOVE their circus theme. Brian has one thing to start his comments with “I have one criticism about the circus performance, it was way too short!”. Our roller skating team is now rivalling the dance teams in the show, what do you think?

To vote for Rolling Entertainment call 1902 55 333 9 or SMS ROLLING to 1997 7772

That’s 9 acts this week and more to come next week in the next installment of the semi finals. Make sure you vote for your favourites. Next week will be full of more talent… see you there!

It’s come to the last week of auditions and we’re here tod see who else will be in with a chance at the $250,000 prize.

First up is Queen of Rock, a Suzi Quatro tribute show … who are clearly not the original talent…. or any talent at all.

Next up is Michael Jackson impersonator with his own dancing girls. But unfortunately, like most tribute acts, it’s the thought that counts… not the talent, and our singer is told that maybe miming the songs would be better next time.

And yes, another tribute/impersonating group, paying tribute to the sounds and styles of The Andrews Sisters, but with a sound of their own. The Belles, 3 singing teachers, in their swinging old style dancing and costumes, and sassy attitude, impress the judges and the crowd.

The next act is kind of creepy in a stalkerish kind of way, and it’s hard to tell whether they’re serious, or just a serious joke. Manparts is a boy band of the 21st century, and they have Danni in hysterics with the comedy part of their act. Brian gives them a piece of his mind, flashbacks and all, for mocking his boyband days “thou shalt protect the boyband from the jester”. Sorry boys, it’s come to the end of the road.

There’s fire, fire and more fire from some talented fire dancers and gymnasts

Howe School Dancers give us some latin dance fever. Brittany Boffo shows us her gymnastics and aerobics skills, tempting Kyle to give it a go. Sorry Kyle, no semi finals for you.

Our next act can disclocate 27 joints and get out of a straightjacket … but today he’s keeping the straightjacket off so we can see every bit of his act. The judges can’t even look. Brian begs the other judges to say no because he can’t bear to watch this talent again… but Danni and Kyle want to see more, so we’ll be seeing this 15 year old boy again.

The next group “definitely ticks the strange box”, Ambassador Belles, with their bell playing and random vocal additions. Brian tells this group “You do what you’re doing very well, but what you’re doing is wierd” and Danni likens it to music from a horror film, half expecting a body to pop out of the ground. Sorry but that’s not going to make it through to

The Badpiper with his 25 years experience show us that bagpipes don’t have to be boring. With dancing pelvic thrusts and fire from the pipes, this is no ordinary bagpipe performance. Badpiper bring it back it’s a definite yes from me. All 3 yes’s, more fire and pipes to come.

From a tightrope walker to Opera-Karate-Chic … yes, that’s their name, the acts come in all shapes and sizes.

Rod Collins is the harmonica player from another planet sounding like a 3 man band with only himself, and getting the judges on their feet.

Jim McCallister relives his rock and roll days, but then our next act Beth O’Driscoll is up with a song she’s been practising since 1973. After about a 1 minute musical intro and the judges and audience wondering what’s going on, Beth FINALLY started her song … a song with no lyrics from Pink Floyd. Kyle sums it up well with his comment “the sign there doesn’t say Australia’s Got Interesting”.

Wholesome, harmonic, and hot are three words the judges use to describe the next act …. but Kyle isn’t impressed with their fashion sense

Vocal Evolution …. the biggest boy band in the world, an all male choir with some fantastic tone and power. These guys will be heading on to show us some more in the following rounds. Even Kyle is impressed.

Blue Nation acapella group are a group of 5 friends with a year of experience getting together just for fun…. but there’s definitely some talent there and they have the audience clapping along shortly into their performance of Bright Sunshining Day Johnny Nash - Collections: Johnny Nash - I Can See Clearly Now. Talent? Yes. Image? No. They’re through … on the conditions of a style makover.

Double trouble and twice the craziness… the twins who show up on every reality show. Kyle is annoyed that even changing networks doesn’t let him escape from these two. 27 year old John and Steven bring us their own rendition of “when you were young” from The Killers  The Killers - When You Were Young - Single - When You Were Young… their version is the out of tune and off pitch version. “The singing definitely is not for you.”

The Black Birds are from all over the world, meeting up as buskers, and forming their own band a whle ago to bring us their unique laid back lounge song. Brian “could sit and listen to that all night”, and Kyle would sign them right now if they walked into his office…. there’s no doubting these 3 yes’s.

Simon Russell Baker sings up a storm with his broadway style rendition of “this is the moment” from Jekyll & Hyde Christiane Noll, Emily Skinner, Frank Wildhorn, John Treacy Egan, Leslie Briscusse, Linda Eder & Robert Cuccioli - Jekyll & Hyde - The Musical (1997 Original Broadway Cast Recording) - This Is the Moment , and is followed by yet ANOTHER martial arts performance, but Kyle isn’t about to say no to 12 black belts.

University mates Jack In The Box take acapella and beatboxing to a whole new level playing drums and the digiridoo, scratching, dance music, Mcing, and all with just their voice and a couple of microphones. I could listen to these guys all night. 3 very certain Yes’s … Jack in the Box will be back.

Our last dance crew of the auditions is Justice Crew, from all different walks of life and teaching community dance classes to give something back. And theyre’ here today to show us YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU DREAM. They got the judges on their feet with looks of awe, the audience screaming, and young and old on their feeet. Danni is amazed and tells the boys “the tricks were incredible, the music was phenomenal, and you guys are so likeable… and man I want to see that again!” Yes yes and yes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Justice Crew make it to the final showdown of Australia’s Got Talent.

With the auditions over and the judges beginning their deliberations with 100 acts that need to end up as 32 by the end of the show tonight. Singers with too many skills in common, some performers who really stood out and wow’d us, another Susan Boyle but with less talent, and some …. odd acts.

Kyle points out that you can’t put through all the dance crews, or all the singers, and choosing between them is REALLY hard.  With the decisions made it’s time for the judges to announce who’s going through.

We say goodbye to a few dance crews, duets, martial artists, and a variety of …. um … talent.

And coming up in the semi-finals are Kstar Evolutionz, Justice Crew, Bobby Andanov, our duet that got parted during their act, belly dancers, our swing dancing legends The Swingchesters, Shorty-D, a million dollar pianist, Rolling Entertainment with their roller skating performance, Jack in the Box, and even the water melon man, yes, the watermelon man.  These are just a few of the acts going through to the semi’s. Watch next week to see more of these amazing acts.

This week we’re in Perth. Can they followup on what Melbourne and Sydney had to offer?

Curly haired 15 yr old Josh (shorty D) use to be in a group called D12. Now he’s a solo act of dance and rap. I don’t think anyone expected what was to come. Shorty D is the complete package and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the final. Kyle is wowed and tells the other judges “I don’t know what the rules of this show are but I want to take this kid to New York and get him signed now!”

Our next contestant Maria swans in wearing her “lucky red dress” hoping the judges don’t compare her too much to Susan Boyle. Singing Phantom of the Opera “  wishing you were somehow here again”Andrew Lloyd Webber - The Phantom of the Opera (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Expanded Edition] - Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. She definitely didn’t get compared to Susan Boyle, but Kyle did tell her “I really liked it apart from the camilla Parker Bowles impersonator look”. 2 yes’s from the other judges and Kyle deciding not to give his vote… but all it takes is 2 votes so Maria is through.

12 year old Daniel gives us a show of skil with his soccer skills. Faultless and “adorable” will get this talented young man through to the next round.

We run through a few attempted acts of dancing and singing but no one makes the cut.

Flames of Polynesia is off to to a good start and Danni’s mesmerised by him … and loves the performance as well.

David Cronin and his musical bells get the simple “oh that explains it” when he announces he’s from Adelaide. Without hesitation David is off the stage without a single yes.

Ken D’Sousa gives us a performance of The BeeGees “Words” Bee Gees - The Ultimate Bee Gees - Words , but apparently “but it aint the Bee Gees doing it”

James, Scoot and Spark, our trained stunt performers with their mini bike stunt team. Their firey performance does more than just light up the audience, but they also set off the fire alarms in the building. “Love the act, I think it must be quite difficult to even balance on those things let alone do the tricks” Danni. 3 yes’s … more stunts to come!

Back from the break and trying to fight their way to the next round, literally, Team 9 lives with their martial arts and parkour performance.

Then 47 year old Mark brings his spirituality and wholesome healing therapist shows us why he’s been “trying” to get his music out there for 2 decades. Buzzed before he’s done, but he doesn’t seem to get the hint. And even after he leaves the stage he still seems to think they just didn’t give him a chance. Here’s hoping there’s more talent to come. Perth isn’t looking good so far!

Maybe not… an undie wearing electrician in some sort of … I don’t even know what to call it. Is this guy serious? “I don’t think we’ve ever had someone turn up and impersonate a testicle before”. Oops apparently he was meant to be an emu. Really?

Mum of 2 Aimee-Elizabeth, bought up in the USA but spending a large part of her life in Africa, this mum is back in Australia to pursue her dream of a career as a star. Singing “oh holy night”. “You, and that what you did there, is talent” exclaims Kyle. Aimee has a definite 3 yes’s and she’ll be throug to the next round.

Andrew Won and his Ninja show are up next. He’s not the ultimate fighting machine… the gear yes, but the skill…. um, no. Kyle gives Andrew the challenge to kick the boom mic and he’s through. He falls flat on his back but he makes the kick. I have no words at this stage…. I guess we’ll wait and see what he does next round.

Ann Ferguson brings some much welcome comedic relief. Mixed responses from the audience, but Danni loves her, despite her awkwardness,

I have to admit this next act does make me laugh. I’m not sure about talent but she definitely gets a laugh using everyday food items and body parts to “narrate” a song. But this is the last we’ll see of our animated contestant.

Cocky little Sex Bomb with his farmyard yodel is almost as odd as the previous act. It really shows that the lure of a large cash prize will make almost anyone give it a go.

Andrew Marr thinks he’s funny. He’s the only one at first. But after his warm up he’s actually kind of funny. 3 yes’s …. finally some talent. He’s through to the next round.

Our singing and dancing senior citizen superstar shows us that at 75 you can still have personality, charisma, talent, and charm. But is it enough? Brian thinks “you’re mad as a hatter but you’re brilliant”. Kyle disagrees but 2 yes’s get him through.

Jess Mews with her hula hoop fever. The judges give it a go but come off in bruises not talent. Jess will get to show us some more in the next round.

Bob Hay writes a song that sounds more like a jingle… a really really bad jingle. No chance.

Adam Murby and his sister Selina give us illusions. Even our presenter who’s only feet away from the act can’t figure out how they did it. The judges are amazed and Kyle is even more keen on the little sister. There’s no doubt that Adam and Selina are through, not just in this show, but potentially through to a great career if Kyle’s opinion is anything to go off. Yes yes, and yes.

Some interesting acts, and some pole antics to wow kyle, show a diversity of talent.

To end off tonight’s show our 7 year old pianist leaves the audience and judges with a sense of WOW. “Flight of the Bumblebee” by Rachmaninov Idil Biret - Rachmaninov : Piano Transcriptions & Arrangements - Flight Of The Bumble-Bee . The judges sneak on stage to get a better look at this child prodigy. No one can quite believe what they’re hearing. At the age of 7, with 5 years piano playing under his belt, there’s no question here. Yes Yes and 100 million percentYes.

It’s week 2 of the auditions for Australia’s Got Talent, and this week we go to Brisbane and Sydney.

Our presenter, Grant Denyer, has an interesting show ahead of him with today’s acts.

Our first act of the night is Idell Wadley, a belly dancing teacher and fellow dancer who claim their confidence is because they’re going to win. Although we see confused and puzzling glances from the audience, the judges give 3 yes’s because of the comedy and personality in the act, but it’s the “booby dance” that really had the boys captivated.

From 2 belly dancing ladies, to an 80 person male acapella group The Blenders all dressed in suits. Ranging in age from 11-80 years old, The Blenders give us an entertaining performance of Man In The Mirror Michael Jackson - The Essential Michael Jackson - Man In the Mirror

Yes, talent usually includes juggling, but when this juggler walked on stage he failed to impress.

Our next act is a singer with a sound fx panel and voice effects. This interesting performer got buzzed out, but both Brian and Kyle said yes, so she’s through to the next round.

But it’s not all roses for our next act, a 10 out of 10 for effort for this singer, but that’s as far as he got.

A breath of fresh air with some talent from Girlfriend Pure Pole Dancers. Mouths agasp the whole performance and a standing ovation from the crowd, like “cirque du sensational”, these 3 women give us a performance of acrobatics and pole dancing talent to show the crowd that Australia has talent. We’ll be seeing more of this trio.

Team Dragonfly, our 2 person samurai martial arts team, come on stage next and show us a “smashing” performance. Combining gymnastics moves with concrete and sledgehammers, they make our judges want to see more. Yes, we’ll see Team Dragonfly in the the next round.

A guy who “thinks” he can sing and danc is buzzed within 2 seconds, showing us that there are definitely varying levels of talent in this country.

With a passion for making Greek mythology accessible through music, Billy Gimorewalks on stage confident, but is buzzed within 10 seconds. Brian matter of factly tells Billy “I don’t think australian kids are ready to hear about greek mythology through music like that.“ Sorry Brian, this is the end of the Australia’s Got Talent road for you.

The Twine show us that a family can still have fun together. Husband and wife and their adorable son give us a performance not to be reckoned with. Everyone gets up on their feet, the audience gets involved, and they’ll get another chance to do so again in the next round. Brian tells us “What we just saw there, that’s the spirit of Australia right there”. 3 yes’s, we’ll see The Twine again soon.

Asim Gorashi whistles his way on stage, and walks back off without a single yes … and our singing window cleaner Peter realises he should stick to his day job.

But our next act Felix and half sister Lily, known as Parental Guidance Recommended, gives us an electric violin and cello performance of Vivaldi dressed in clown costumes which takes the judges by surprise. They definitely have talent and Brian says “You’ve taken 2 quite boring instruments to play on their own and made them quite interesting”. We’ll have a chance to see more of this duo in the next round.

Spellbound and infectious are two words to describe this next act. Maimuna and Aida, another brother and sister duo. Brian is dumbfounded and exclaims “Oh my God, where did you two come from?!”. “Brisbane definitely has talent, that was phenomenal” says Danni. It’s a definite three yes’s for this performance.

Quazon – burlesque singer, odd facials, even weirder comments, and the judges look stunned. The buzzers go off before his act even begins, but he trys anyway. Kyle isn’t loving it and tells Quazon “I dont think I understand what happened”. Quazon, it’s time to leave the stage.

Yuriv plays a flute that looks like a wooden cat ornament and sings for us, well at least I think it was meant to be singing. I’m not too sure.

Ventriloquist Chris Woodman gives us a variety performance. And then Dr Shelly Sykes announces shes “sexy, single, and ready to mingle” before she belts out something between a song and a rap. Kyle is bashing the buzzer but it won’t go off. All the buzzers are disabled, the judges are going crazy and banging their heads on the desk. Somehow I don’t think she’ll be showing us her talent again on the show.

Michael Porter thoroughly unimpresses the judges, and our trained pet dogs doing a parade and playing musical chairs gave us the same reaction. “the owners of the dogs were worse than the dogs!” exclaim the judges.

But it’s refreshing to see Tom Ward, 26 year old musician, playing spanish classical guitar in this next act. 3 yes’s from the judges.

Grant Richardson is a local horse breaker who won “starmaker” in Temworth in 2000, but family tragedy stopped the performance part of his career. This is his chance at a new beginning. The judges are fixed on his every word and the audience start cheering halfway through his performance. But Brian isn’t so impressed in the end, telling Grant “In the country world I don’t think you’re as good as some of them out there”. However, as we know, you only need 2 yes’s to go through, so Grant is onto the next round, with a yes from Kyle, and a “big fat yes” from Danni.

Elias Majdalani is a construction laborer with a surprising talent. He apparently uses his talent for fitness, boosting his mood, and as a wind down for the day. I think it’s a unanimous decision from judges and the audience alike that his talent should stay at home.

16 year old Ferah is a self taught bellydancer and has the boys captivated from the moment she walks on stage. Brian gives a “big jelly belly yes”, possibly more fixated on her stomach and hips than the actual performance element, but the other 2 judges agree. Ferah is onto the next round.

Antonio Zonta is 67 years young, much to the disbelief of Danni, and the birth of his 17 month old boy has given him a new lease on life. Let’s see if this new passion and opera singing performance can get him through the next round of performances. Without a doubt the judges are giving him a try… as long as he wears a tuxedo next time.

Our final performance for the evening is a 3 piece band who had some challenges before today’s audition. River City Rumblers are waiting in the audition room when all of a sudden they hear a big crash. Their double bass is damaged but the other contestants pull together to help and get things on track only moments before they get on stage. This rockerbilly trio aged 13 – 16 sound like a professional band, but as Grant points out, their parents still have to drive them to gigs. The judges are are surprised at what they hear . “I don’t know whats going to happen here tonight but I’d like to book you for my birthday coming up” requests Kyle. 3 definite yes’s without a doubt. They very well could be contending in the final, and no one would be at all surprised.

Next week – Perth. Do you think we’ll find more talent to rival the last two weeks? We’ll find out!

The 2010 season of Australia’s Got Talent kicked off tonight with auditions in Melbourne and Sydney. Melbourne bought an impressive amount of talent to kick off the show… along with our panel of judges this year Brian McFadden, Danni Minogue and Kyle Sandilands to help us decide who’s in the running for the cash prize.

Starting off in style we had K Star Evolutionz, a 22 person dance team made up of 8-18 year olds, who practise in their “dance studio” otherwise known as their coach Kim’s garage. They give an impressive performance and have their coach and members of the audience wiping tears from their eyes. Danni proclaims it’s the easiest yes she’s ever said, 3 strong yes’s from the judges and they’re off to the next round.

Next up we have Miss Gypsey Whitemoon with her comedy routine that lasted a matter of seconds, followed by Heather Cook with her broadway singing attempt. Both contestants were sent away without a single yes from the judges.

The Swingchesters were up next with their Swing/Jitterbug routine, wowing the judges with their energy and skill at the impressive age of 84 years old. Married for 42 years and showing the crowd that “it doesn’t matter how old you are, you can still do it”. Brian tells Ron and Margaret Winchester “You two are an example of what living life is all about!” It’s onto the next round for the Swingchesters.

Daniel Chrisp makes the judges gasp and cringe with his flexibility in his circus straps routine.  The judges buzz him when he admits that yes, that is his real body, but his talent is definitely noticed on the stage.

Clara MacIndoe attempts her barrel contortion routine but the judges are less than impressed with her lack of enthusiasm, but Brian adds a bit of humour to her routine by trying to fit through the barrel himself, realising it’s not a talent for him. Clara is told to develop as a performer and Danni tells her she’s the “most nervous person we’ve ever seen on stage, ever”. Her first smile of the performance was when she was told she wouldn’t be going through.

Audience participation was the name of the game in this next act. 45 year old Elvi Pez wowed, or was it shocked us all with his original musical act which he named “Dumb Computer”. Brian invited a little girl from the audience to buzz him off, but he kept going, Kyle also gets audience members to buzz him off, and finally he stops. However eventually Danni was the only one who gave Elvi a no, telling him “if these buttons had words written on them it would say Alt, Ctrl, Del” Elvi is off to the next round, much to the surprise of the audience.

A few acts to exercise the buzzers … Stefan with his solo drama performance, Kevin Rudd rapping as K-rap, and Gary Pitts with his song “knife fork spoon” which can only be described as odd and slightly creepy.

It was a breath of fresh air to see some more talent arise with 38 year old costume maker Valentina Dobric giving us an opera perfomance that saw her go through to the next round with a unanimous yes.

Brian tells the next contestants “you just made me like ballet” when two 13 year old girls bring us their “secret garden” ballet performance, and you’ll be seeing more of their talent in the next round.

Calipower dance troupe were “just a bit scary”, but our next performer known only as “The Yo-Yo guy” got a strong three yes’s from the judges and a convincing yes from the audience.

WOW is the only word to describe the next performer, at the young age of 12 years old Breanne Bishop performed Kristen Chenoweth - Wicked - Popular Popular from the musical Wicked with amazing energy, facials, actions … and all this with a cold. She got a standing ovation from the crowd as well as the judges, and there was no hesitation sending her to the next round, with Danni explaiming “I would give you a job if I was casting for something right now!”, and Kyle telling Breanne “I hate musical theatre, I hate it’s guts, but you were fantastic”. This won’t be the last we see of Breanne Bishop.

The judges are impressed with our next performers including a beatboxer, and Kenji Ang giving us a popping and dance demonstration. But the square dancers up next with their live “doe a deer” performance was the “most boring piece of dribble we’ve ever seen”. It’s a strong no.

Next up we have The Beaver Shakers … a dance team with a range of songs, including the Los del Río - Hits of the 90's - Macarena Macarena and even features a contortionist in their humourous but talented performance.

Rolling entertainment gives us a wheel of a time with their roller skating performance, dressed like it’s 1975, and performing to The Trammps - Saturday Night Fever (The Original Movie Soundtrack) [Remastered] - Disco Inferno Disco Inferno by The Trammps … a performance that took the judges by surprise with their flips, stunts, and jumps. Kyle liked the womens costumes even more than the performance, and it was a unanimous yes from the judges. Rolling entertainment will be skating into the next round.

Going from a duo, to a single performer, and then to 2 single acts were father and son duo Cameron and Taylor Henderson. Their guitar and singing duo didn’t impress judges so much but they were keen to hear more, getting Taylor to perform on his own, followed by Cameron. From the moment Taylor started singing you could see girls swooning in the audience. Both father and son are through to the next round as Brian explains “you are two stars in your own right”.

Finishing up the Melbourne talent pool we had Alana Conway with her singing and harp performance, followed by Julie Anne’s out of tune feedback singing performance, but the talent stepped it up for the last act of the city.

Bobby Andonov, a 15 year old boy who started singing at the age of 9, sings Leonard Cohen - More Best of Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and blows the audience and judges away with the talent that they don’t think he realises he even has. Danni tells us it’s her favourite version of that song that she’s ever heard, and they send this “goldmine of talent” onto the next round without a doubt.

Onto the first half of the sydney auditions to see if they have what it takes to make the next round.

Rosie the crocodile and her tamer give us an interesting performance, and Kyle gets a crocodile kiss on the cheek, but it’s not enough for him to put them through. However Danni and Brian disagree and with 2 yes’s Rosie and her tamer are through to the next round to show us some more.

42 year old Kim Pickering-Jones may just be Australia’s Susan Boyle… and with Susan being her idol, she steps up to the microphone to give us a stunning performance. She’s through to the next round with 3 resounding yes’s.

Our last act of the night can only be described as …. well I don’t think there’s a word for it. This 40 year old english teacher, who walks on stage covered in paint, and introduces himself simply as The Watermelon Man, gives us an unforgettably “interesting” performance in body movement which involves dancing with watermelons and then smashing them on his head. For some reason the judges want to see more, so he’s heading through to the next round.

We’ll return next week with more auditions including the other half of the Sydney talent… let’s see if we have as much variety as this week.
