Rock and roll has given Cleve the best years of his life. He’s played with all the big acts, like LRB, The Doobie Brothers and Blood Sweat and Tears. But before the rock star days, there were the “first girlfriend” days. Sixteen-year-old Cleve fell for an 18-year-old co-worker. When she got pregnant, her parents disapproved, and told Cleve to clear off. So Cleve has never even seen his baby.

FIND MY FAMILY is presented by Jack Thompson.

- GUEST STARS GEORGE SPARTELS & DINA PANOZZO

Julie fears that as she heads into menopause she’s losing the ‘mojo’ that has always enabled her to dispense sound wisdom to family and friends tonight on PACKED TO THE RAFTERS. And desperate to contact Melissa and win her back, Ben resolves to declare his love for her on national television – with tragi-comic results.

Julie’s mojo is already beginning to fail her as she counsels Chrissy about her acceptance of Carbo’s marriage proposal. Chrissy is having severe second thoughts and Julie finds herself giving the bizarre advice that Chrissy could always get divorced after a year if it doesn’t work out. Question is, as Carbo splashes out on a big diamond, then proceeds to sink a few too many beers, also sharing her doubts?

Sammy has flown back from New York with expensive gifts for the entire family. Knowing this will upset Nathan, Julie cautiously advises Sammy to hide most of the purchases from him. Already aware that Sammy lied about her mother paying for her flights, Nathan becomes angry when he discovers Sammy’s mother Trish has also bankrolled her shopping excesses. He seeks advice from Julie but she’s by now feeling too under-confident to help. Ben recklessly advises his brother to confront Sammy head-on, which Nathan does, with explosive results.

Meanwhile, Melissa still isn’t returning Ben’s phone calls and he is at a loss to win her back. On a boys’ night out to celebrate Carbo’s engagement, a progressively drunker Carbo encourages Ben to propose to Melissa. When Ben points out that he can’t even contact Melissa, Carbo suggests he thinks outside the square. Ben wonders if he should declare his love for her live on national TV and asks Julie for advice. Julie’s common sense apparently eluding her, she flips a coin, and – the next day – Ben crashes a live breakfast-show weather-report whilst holding an ‘I Love You Mel’ sign.

Later he sees a taped replay of his efforts and realises he’s made a complete fool of himself. Will the disastrous exhibition be enough to win Melissa back or will it turn her away forever?

Rachel considers leaving home after her best friend Libby asks her to move in with her. She asks her mother for advice but Julie – who’s also besieged by Nathan for help with his problems – breaks down in tears, eventually confessing to her family that she thinks she may be menopausal.

In Melbourne, the RSPCA are called to investigate a report of animals abandoned at a burnt-out house. Only a few days earlier, Leo the terrier had been hailed a hero for rescuing a litter of kittens from the blazing house. Inspectors Natalie Linney and Shannon Walsh inspect the property and find the kittens and their mother still living in the burnt-out shell with Leo nowhere to be found.

Still in Melbourne, inspector Stuart Marchesani is called to a property on the outskirts of Melbourne where an Irish wolfhound has been left on his own while recovering from an operation after being hit by a car. The owner has no relatives or friends who can help her and the dog needs urgent treatment.

Meanwhile, in Sydney, the RSPCA join WIRES (Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service) to save a group of orphaned grey-headed flying foxes. Inspector Slade Macklin harnesses up to climb the tree in a tricky operation to bring down the endangered species.

Narrated by ANTHONY FIELD, RSPCA ANIMAL RESCUE follows Australia’s RSPCA inspectors as they rescue, protect and prevent cruelty to the animals of Australia.

Host SIMON REEVE returns for the eighth season of IT’S ACADEMIC with all new episodes of the educational and entertaining show where primary schools compete to have some fun and win some prizes.

This week, Panania North Public School, Yagoona Public School and Prouille Catholic School battle it out for a shot at a semi-final berth. They’ll tackle questions on topics ranging from deep sea fish to spelling, meteorites to the latest kids’ movies, the Great Sphinx to maths brain-teasers, and many more.

SATURDAY DISNEY’s SALLY STANTON returns as co-host for IT’S ACADEMIC and each episode she tells the contestants a story that will test their listening and comprehension skills. This week Sally tells the tale of a four-legged hero, looks into the past at a figure from history, and also attempts to solve the age-old riddle: are zebras black with white stripes, or white with black stripes?

Also, the kids competing as well as everyone watching at home can put their observational skills to the test with the ‘Watch This Space’ segment. This week, there are interviews with celebrities including The Veronicas and Sam Sparro, and profiles of animals including Wedge-tailed Eagles, Flying Foxes and stingrays. One of the highlights is a profile of a fascinating woman who has been making hats for the theatre since the 1930s.
